Maiden cfl "cheese" grow

an experienced traditional indoor/outdoor grower, this is my first accelerated-flowering cfl effort.

using seemorebuds' book as a guide, i began with a five pack of femmenized cheese from ghs and one cfl.

all five germinated in two-to-three days, at which time i "transplanted" the grow cubes into peat cups and added three more cfls, as well as an outside fan to the "clone" chambers' three small inplace overhead excavation-type fans to offset the extra heat.

after a week, i moved the peat cups into one-gallon commercial plastic containers. i choose the two hardiest seedlings for my indoor cfl adventure and moved the other three to an already established outdoor operation. i added three more cfls, bringing the total to seven--three dead-on within an inch from each plant and one shared cfl in between (roughly 4-inches from each of the two). currently on 24x7, i rotate the pots and adjust the lights several times a day. temp is running 74-78.

attached are pix of days 7 & 12.

constructive feedback welcome!

yeah, i was planning on maybe adding one more cfl this weekend and running all eight full-tilt around-the-clock for another 5-7 days, then dropping to 12-hour days. pretty much following the seemorebuds' book, but i'm open to suggestions. got the big guns, but the heat & power bills associated with their use is comfort and cost-prohibitive. done outdoors with a greenhouse the last two years; thought lowryder 2 outdoors and the seemorebuds' metheod indoors would be a good way to help bridge the long summer gap.

Definitely add that other cfl, even a few more if you can. Being experienced I'm sure you know that the more light you get to those leaves the more they're going to grow. Are you going to feed them nutes?

well, i started with that potting soil with time-release miracle grow as per seemorebuds, but after reading/seeing in some really inspiring rollitup journals what others have done with cfls i may rethink my quick 60-odd day grow... for the last couple of years i've been using the general hydroponics flora series, supplemented with koolbloom from transition on, alternating with molasses, drain-to-waste, on my outdoor grows. it's relatively cheap, and flexible, and results have been good.

"cheez-whiz" and "cheez-it" @ day 16... blowin' up vs. the three cheese from the same pack that were moved to the outdoor greenhouse (pix to follow)... temp up to 78 with the addition of another cfl and it becoming warmer outdoors; got the fans working overtime.

i screwed up.

da girls--it & whiz--were totally root-bound by day 18 and had begun yellowing.

the next day, i transplanted them into 3-gallon containers with a 75% mg moisture control/25% perlite mix. one good watering, and three days later they had regained their vigor! however, "it" had prematurely lost 1 pair of fan leaves.

note to me: skip the one-gallon stage, especially when using femminized seeds.

attached are pix of days 19-21, as well a picture of one of da cheez girls three outdoor sisters (same "birth" date indoor cfl)

a couple of more outdoor pix...

started both grows almost a month ago with 40 seeds.

germination indoors utilizing cfls, 31 went green:

- 5 of 5 ghs fem cheese
- 5 of 5 ams thai stick
- 10 of 10 hqs marley's best
- 8 of 10 lowryder 2 (three of which are pretty weirdly abberant)
- 3 of 10 ams thc bomb (dissappointing--but if they blow-up to over 1000 grams each as promised, i'll feel better)

pix of lowryder 2 and marley's best
