main stem snapped off

i was trying to bend the main stem because it was stretching. after i slowly tried to bend it it then snapped. it scared the crap out of me. the thing didnt completely snap off but it is hanging side ways with the main stem barely hanging onto a tissue of plant skin. do i pull it off or do i let it go?:confused:

hahaha im sorry buddy!

your plants must of been pretty tiny to snap that easy? what kind of light do you have and how big are they? i think once its snapped its garbage right?

there are still nodes below the part where the stem snapped off. i know that my plant will continue to grow but im just wondering about the part that snapped. it is barely hangning on with a piece of plant skin. im just wondering if the part that snapped off would recover with the small piece of plant skin on it. will it recover and grow horizontally?

Try tieing it back up and bandage or tape up around the snapped part then see how it goes. I always tie up my branches off the main stem with bandages to help support them and avoid having this problem.

Good luck with it.

then u just topped it right.......just a little roughly.....and if all else fails u could cut it nd try to clone it

steak it and tie it just above the break and below the break a coupletimes. don't cover the breaklet air get to it. in a week she will be fixed. good luck

I had a 4 foot Thai plant that split right down the middle because the arms where too long and heavy, The duct tape was not coming off once put on, lol. But yeah I understand why one would want to use some less sticky tape for a younger plant.

ya im braking branches most ofthe time and i just use a curtin hook that u use to hold your curtines up. i tie a piece offish line to the hook, use the hook on the plant and pull the broken part together with the other end and tieing it off to the plant stake.. quikeand easy.

Sounds like you need to tie up and support the bottom branches to avoid it happening again. As you know it can be a problem with big plants once they get some weight on them.
This is how I tie mine using a bandage:

Tape it back up using a Band-Aid. It will be fine. If you did it right away, it would have been like grafting and should heal fine in a few days. If you have waited for all the answers here, it might be a bit of a problem.

dude mygirls your plants look beautiful i only wish that mine were like that. it is also sort of a tease lol. but back to the point of my stem snapping, so far its been 2 days and the main stem came back to life all on its own. the broken half of my plant is growing towards the light. well only the vegetation that was on it. originally the broken half was hanging on a thread of plant skin with the vegetation looking dead. now that vegetation came is growing into the lights. it even got a little burnt. anyway thanks for all the help to everyone who posted on here.
