majority of employers favor raising minimum wage

"Among employers who want an increase in their state, improving the standard of living of workers led all business-related reasons for their support," CareerBuilder said in a breakdown of the survey. "A majority say a higher minimum wage helps the economy and helps them retain employees."

That's not even an intelligible "sentence."
i can read it just fine.

it says that a better standard of living for workers was the top business related reason given by employers who want a minimum wage increase in their state.

you must be a real shitty author.

good job racializing it rather than owning up to your own shitty reading compensation.
Obviously, Bush's, "no child left behind," program didn't work too well.

Huffpost has low standards for hiring columnists. Possibly an affirmative action success story?

Who said I didn't understand? My suggestion would be along the lines of, "Improving worker standard of living is the leading reason behind why an employer would want their state's minimum wage increased."

Not whatever the hell the person who wrote the article said.

Which is why weed at 16 is bad.

awkward sentence structure in bold.

plus, it's not conditional. the employers they are discussing DO want the min wage increased in their state.

L2anglaise, mademoiselle.

All an employer has to do is give them a raise. Why do they need a law telling them to if it's what they already want to do?

Thread failed at post #1.

The word among is a conditional within the set employers. You're used to stupid people online is why you think my version is awkward.

This is an example of how a proper article is written, which uses my "awkward" sentence.

UB, from a common sense perspective... Why would an employer need the minimum wage to be raised? Do they NEED to be forced to pay more and are they actively ASKING for the wages they have to pay to be raised?

Or, is there an ulterior motive?

Because the scum crawling pieces of shit you describe for businessmen that would rather save a dime than help a starving child are not lining up to say yes to this study.

You have yet to explain why the employers simply don't give their employees a raise.

Unless it involves rape, Uncle Buck wants nothing to do with it.

Seriously tho...

If you want your employees to be paid more...why not just give them a raise?

The fact this is even being discussed shows how completely fucking irrevocably RETARDED liberals are.

There are two plays at work. Business says, "we pay according to the law, and not a penny more. It's not our problem." The other is like I said that businesses who can barely stay afloat must absorb the new cost, so businesses who already pay more like Wal-Mart get government to rid them of competition. While government gets more tax money, akin to printing money. The only ones who suffer with minimum wage are those who make just over minimum get a pay cut.

Employers of minimum wage jobs don't want their employees to be paid more because it means the remaining portion to pay executives and put back into the company will be less
