make clone from topping in flower?

the plants have been in flower now for the 5th day, pulled the males thus far and have 1 identified female. i would like to take clones from her but this is my first time cloning so should i top the plant now and will the topping cut act as a good clone in an aero cloner? I planned on trimming some clones from the lower portions of the plant. I wasnt really sure how long i should wait before cutting, any advice?

If she is in flowering you should go ahead and take cuttings now before she really begins producing--the longer they flower before you take clones, the more stressed the clones will be (at first) and will take longer to respond to veg lighting and longer to root.

A pic of the plant would help--you can top it and try to root that cutting--but only if the stem isn't already too thick. So be on the safe side and take a few from the bottom of the plant and when they all root and start showing new growth, just keep the healthiest.

Concur with NG. You want to take the cuttings from flowering plants as soon as possible. Reverting back to veg is stressful, and you want to limit the stress to a cutting that's trying to root.

The top makes a great cutting. I have always had great results from tops of plants. Check out Al B Fuct and the huge tops (and shoots) he cuts.

Before topping I would jump over into the advanced forum section there's a stickey called "uncle benn's topping technique" give that a look over there is a lot of good info in there answered all my questions and learned a lot as well.
