Making alcohol tincture first time~

So I ground up about my last 10 plants worth of popcorn buds and ended up with about 35g of decent product... Decarbed it as suggested on many of the tutorials I have read. It's been sitting in the freezer submerged in a pint of Everclear grain alcohol for 2 days. Now for the waiting game.
Out of curiosity I dipped my pinky in tonight and just coated the tip and put it in my mouth... It was so cold I couldn't really tell what it tasted like but it wasn't offensive. I am DEF feeling some effects... but not overwhelming... just kind of a mellow warmth throughout my head and extremities.
So I guess my question is... if a trace amount on my pinky is having slight effects... is it safe to say I'm on my way to a successful batch?? I dont know how much I tried but I'm thinking it has to be substantially less than a few drops from an eye dropper right??

You are soaking buds in grain alcohol?
What will this accomplish?
Do you have a link to an article that you got this idea?
 
you can just search cannabis alcohol tincture and find MANY more articles... long story short, if done properly, you can just put a drop or two under your tongue to absorb arterially .... riding a cloud minutes later:)
 
it's all good. So many ways to extract the goodness i have never done the grain alcohol method. I want the oil for smoking or ingesting. I have done the cooking oil extraction for baking brownies and cakes and such.
 
I've made the oil and butter with mixed results... probably because I was using inferior product... My hopes are "high" for this experiment because I used pretty decent bud... fluffy and not very pretty but should be leaps and bounds above what I've used in the past... fingers crossed:P

no worries and thank you for making the point in case I had missed it!!! I have read and read on the topic so I'm just hoping I get decent results... the little bit on my pinky made me think I'm definitely on the right track... will probably move up to the eyedropper in a week or so... the REAL test...lol~

Kind of new to me too... My GF got some "jolly ranchers" from a dispensary and they were absolute fire... so I started looking into how to make my own:)

Its in a mason jar... the plan is to strap a couple of coffee filters around the top with a rubber band and transfer it into a new clean jar and then back into the freeze for storage
 
sounds like my first batch of tincture when I first came to the site, this will definitely work but there are better ways to make a more pristine tincture that will have no taste of chlorophyll, and will be a beautiful amber color

my best results from an alcohol tincture came from a frozen QWET wash that I evaporated into a piece of shatter like my avatar
from there I decarboxylate the extract, using a hot oil bath at 250F until the bubbles stop forming
at this point I dissolve the activated oil to my desired amount of alcohol..
then it is ready to go, always start small with does this way

I made two batches of tincture for the first time yesterday. I read a variety of techniques and opinions (and are there a lot of them!), and this is what I did:

-chopped up my bud in my cuisinart
-decarbed it
-put it into a mason jar
-poured Everclear 181 over the top of it, covering it plus 1/2 inch over top
-stored in my closet to do its thing

Additional notes:
-There was tons o' kief clinging inside Cuisinart, so I scraped that as clean as I could - waste not want not. ;)
-I read that if you were using fresh bud that the tincture would be stronger, so instead of 1/4" Everclear over top
of leaf/bud, I poured 1/2" . I will find out if this was a good idea in a few weeks.
-I scraped "a little" of the kief into each jar before adding the Everclear.
-One Jar was made w/ Agent Orange, the other Blueberry.

I can hardly wait until it's done!
