Making Collodial Silver... Two Questions.

I got a silver quarter, lopped it in half, put it in a pyrex tray full of R/O water and hooked it up to a 12v. lawnmower/scooter battery overnight.

The water was quite murky this morning, so I stirred it up really well and then poured it into mason jars leaving no room for air in the jar.

My first question is; How do I know if it's strong enough? I don't have a TDS meter. Secondly, what is the proper application method, duration and frequency of use?

Thanks. :)

murky is good, idk how to tell how strong it is without a tds meter. overnight i`ld guess anywhere between 25 and 40 ppm. i just picked a branch and the day i threw it in flower i started spraying that branch once a day till banana`s showed up. idk if it`s right but it worked most of the time, i had one where the banana`s wouldn`t open.

After I make my solution with Silver quarters. I pour off the top and trash the crap, that is at the bottom.
I don't use a meter and my solution works every time.
Use clones to make seeds,
Get a little sprayer and spay 2 times a day till you see the balls come in.
Always start your donor plant that you want to CS at least 2 weeks in advance of the plants you will pollinate.

Thanks. That was a helpful post.

I just picked up a cloner, and figured I would do exactly as you had suggested by seeding a clone.

I'll be doing this to a couple different strains, any ideas on how to keep the right pollen on the right plant?

Keep the girls separate from the male or males. Collect pollen and hand pollinate the girls.
Not sure what your setup is like. I have an area just for cloning and making seed.
Oh, here is another thing. The CSed plant will look like hell during and after the process. Don't worry it is normal.
Toss the male when done.

Wow, I wasn't expecting the plant to look so fucked up, I'm really glad you said something. :o
Yep, Fugly.. Haha I thought you would like to know this. So, you don't think you have nute problem. Symptom looks like High N. But, it is not.;-)
You can see the shiney Silver deposits on the leaves. That's normal. It is caused by the solution being exposed to light.
Store your CS solution in a dark place. The Silver Ions will convert back to Silver metal particles when exposed to light..

So if I only spray a branch on a plant it won't mess with the growth make surrounding sites look like that, right?
