7grams... good returnHonestly, unless you use some type of solvent extraction the yields using oil or butter isn't going to be much. I use 95% ethanol in a cold wash system so I can get pretty much everything that's in the material and returns are about 25% of the normal yield using flower.
I don't agree with the above poster about trim I can show you very nice shatter slabs from trim of all sorts indoor outdoor greenhouse old and new it's more about quality of the product you put in is what you get out I would recommend running the lowest grade trim for a few test runs and then give A grade trim or bud a shot trial and error will get you to your dessired consistentsyThanks for the quick response! Just trying to figure out the best use of trim, other than lining a trash can LOL

Wow, that's a cool technique of using dry ice to knock the kief loose. I would have never thought of that. Throwing my grinder in the freezer and using a penny to knock loose the kief is about the extent of my tricks LOLMy trim, stems, worthless popcorn buds all go into a bubble bag in a 5 gal bucket. I toss in some broken up dry ice and shake for a while. Pretty much reduces everything to a powder and what falls through the screen at the bottom of the bag is some pretty potent keef. I got a decent size tupperware container full off of two plants last grow and would sprinkle it on my bowls when I packed them. Had a tendency to smoke everyone stupid that tried it.
Have used some trim or sometimes some of that keef to make butter, but I just use a double boiler with a block of butter and some water. Stir occasionally and let it boil for a while, when it's done, strain through cheesecloth and freeze the results in a tupperware, then peel off the big ice cube that forms as it separates. My butter comes out nice and green with a good cannabis flavor but with no bits in it and I've gotten a fair amount of compliments on the resulting edibles. I like to keep it simple. Maybe I'm not extracting every last drop of THC from the trim, but I have more than enough trim that I can just eat a bigger brownie.
I totally love my Magical Butter Machine. I made my first batch of cannabutter the day it arrived. The following day, I made caramels with 1 cup of the cannabutter. The MBM seems to make even last years trim a soothing, calming high that my heavy duty pot user friend absolutely loves. I don't have to worry about timing the mixture, monitoring the temperature, or basically babysitting the butter, oil, or tincture so I'm free to tend to my garden, do laundry, clean, or cook meals. The machine even cleans itself. It's a beautiful, well engineered, and sturdy built stainless steel machine. I didn't have any trouble straining out the plant material. The new model comes with the strainer and a hot glove to aid in the straining. DON'T CHOP UP YOUR BUD OR TRIM before decarboxylating. Don't chop it up before putting it into the machine.Magic butter machine works, it's handy as it stirs itself and has timers, different temps ect....The problem I have with it, it turns all the materials into paste, your butter will have loads of plant material as the particles become basically unstrainable....it does make decent butter, but I prefer the slow cooker myself.

HOnestly thats not a great process for it. They reccomend soaking it for 3 minutes which is WAY to long, and would give you a green, most likely nasty concentrate. You want to quick wash with alcohol, so it doesn't pull chlorophyll during the process. I do 3 washes to seperate out the best for worst quality and still get max yield. Each wash is started and finished in about 30-45 seconds, and the whole process takes about 5-7 minutes total. Wash fast and as cold as possible to get the best results. I also don't chop or heavily break up the material any more than necessary. The more surface area the plant material has exposed the easier it is for the alcohol to pull chlorophyll.Alcohol extractions:
