and what is the micron size of coffee filters? I'm just curious.

Paper coffee filters have a pore size of about 15 microns or less.. depends on the brand of filters.. but roughly in that range.

and to give rep.. if you look at my name.. and avatar pic.. below the join date and posts... youll see the words "Blog This Post"... click on the star symbol right next to it. If you just leave your mouse clicker over it.. you will see the words "reputation" appear. Thank You guys.

And muddbutt.. 2-3 plants will give you plenty of trim.. like I said.. I only did 1 plant.. and got a decent amount. =) I used 14 grams of trim.
 
i know i haven't been around lately (family drama) but great hash guide man i'll be useing this for sure man oh and i'll try and update my pic's and what not soon peace dude (can't give rep lol) although u deserve it for sure man

Yeaa, We've been misisng ya! Sorry 2 hear that tho.. =/ I had my share of family issues.. and all i can say is I hope everything works out man.

and ok cool. i cant wait to see sum updated pics!! and thanks for the attempted rep... its the thought that counts!!

dont seem all that new but yeah totally agree hash is the way to go with ya trim i done some gumby hash at the wkend VERY simalar to ur method n i got 15.2g of lovely hash from the trim of 9 big blueberry plants.
 
congrats for ... ah.. ahem... 'discovering' the method for making cold water hash, lol... much in the way columbus 'discovered' america.

but its all good, man. very nice tutorial however!

lol. na im not saying i discovered this or anything.. just saying that i made an easy guide on how to do it. cuz i looked for a quick and easy method on here.. but could not find 1.. I even said that on my 1st page.. here's the exact words actually from my "intro"
I am not saying that nobody else has came up with this idea, or anything like that.. But I did not copy someone's idea, and call it my own.

lol. i know its been around.. for a while.. but now theres a quick and easy explanation of it.. WITH pictures included

na i know. im not sayin its new. just a new thread/guide on how to do an old method. I just couldnt seem to find any method on how 2 do it on here.

and yeaa, this was my 1st time making hash.. but in my opinion.. I agree with ya.. this is the way to go. and WOW! 15.2 grams!! Niiiiice. you musta got a nice yield off 9 Big BB Plants too.. Lucky! BlueBerry is my favorite strain
 
Hes cool. Hes just seen this somewhere else. Most of us havnt, or we wouldnt reply:) I ended up with 8.3 grams:) Smoked .3 to make her even 8. Whoaaa! Stoney. It was of a VERY frosty Power Kush.

Yeaaa. wow 8.3 huh..? Niiiice! and yeaaa I was gonna ask you.. how was it?? That shit knocked me on my ASS!! lol. i got some of the best nights sleep I've ever had! lol

This method works pretty damn well. I did it this way for a long time before I finally bought bubble bags. I used cheesecloth between the strainer step and the first paper filter. It got out a lot of fine leaf particles. I had to buy the bags because I was getting way too much trim to run small batches. Now I can process 4 to 6 ounces at a time. My arm is starting to get strong from all the mixing in that 5 gallon bucket. I like the bags because I get separate grades of hash from powdery to downright gummy. On a budget though, you cant beat the method shown here. Good job man!

Note: Save and dry the trimmings and you can make oil out of it. The ice water just gets the resin and stuff off the surface of the plant material. The oil is still in there.

I have always used an old ISO-2 that I have had for 30 years. I only use it to extract the oil and not to reclaim the alcohol. The oil gets too hot and turns dark. There is always too much of the plant material that I havent bee able to filter out as well. I want to try another method that doesnt use any heat at all. I also have bought a 10 micron bag to pour the alcohol/oil mixture through. I hate losing the alcohol by letting it evaporate, but it is the best way. I have a couple of pounds of dry leaf in the freezer. I just need to get off my ass and do it.
