I used Biochar soil and regular potting soil for my first grow. Plenty of brands available on Lazada or gardenshop2u.com

Are you growing outdoors? Just keep it simple lah. Get any regular potting soil and make sure you use appropriate nutrient. You can go full organic or you can make things a little easy by using synthetic nutrients like Flora Trio. Thats what I did for my first grow. Used regular potting soil from lazada mixed with some biochar soil. Then used the flora trio nutrient for the full grow. I have not tried full organic yet. Maybe in the future.

Yeah for soil better use potting soil which is not that compress easy fod root to grow. I tried use normal soil include with fertilizer before like tanah hitam normally sell in nursey for my auto, it didnt gdow that well. And dont use too much fertilizer for auto coz it will make nutrient lockout happen to me before. For auto to make yield more keep low stress training it and only defoliate when flowering and only defoliate leaves that blocking light to the bud. Dont topping or defoliate too much coz it will shock auto coz auto grow with age/time. If nothing different maybe of that seed breeder. Gorrilla glue from fastbud make big yield dont know from other breeder.

True. Are you still growing right now? How's your gorilla glue holding up?

100g per plant is quite a decent harvest actually. I grew in 4, five gallon pots and yielded 650 grams in a 4 x 4 tent. But you may want to reconsider using a 5 gallon pot. The pot will get super heavy after watering and if you dont have any method to remove the run off water, you'll end up breaking your back carrying the heavy ass pot every time. What tent size are you growing in? I would start in a 3 gallon pot first lah. It's more manageable and your yield per plant will still be good.

Thats a good yield! 650g of flowers with 4 plants.Under your bed mus full of jars with green under your bed.haha
lets give my self a bit of challenge with the 5 gallons. Did you use biochar for that grow??

Hello guys,

I'm new here and just started growing bagseeds from bricks (haha I know right). I wanna get the hang of growing before actually investing in good quality seeds. Im using cheap grow light from Shopee (RM 50) and growing using some organic potting mix bought from my local nursery. I am growing in a small storage box I bought from Mr DIY.

Im planning to microgrow and just let this be the final pot. This is around day 5 of seedling stage. Just got my light yesterday so previously just trying to get as much sunlight as possible. Didn't go that well. Haha.

What do you guys think? Any tips to share for a newb? Thanks

Hey man. Your babies are looking good! :) Since you have decided that you will be growing in party cups, would it possible to just continue growing outdoors? If that is not an option, you might want to consider your grow light. RM50 light from Shopee doesnt sound like it will be sufficient for cannabis growing. If you are budget conscious, you can check out the following link on DIY LED light or CFL lights. With these at least you still have a better chance.

Hi thanks for replying sifu

For the grow light, I think for now it should be sufficient during these few weeks. The specified PPFM from manufacturer is around 400 at 45cm (my current height lamp). Actual wattage mentioned is 50W. Just wanna try how cheap can you get in growing haha. So if the manufacturer (fingers crossed lol) is not lying, I think it should provide enough light during seedling and early vegetative stage.

As for outdoors, sadly its not possible due to unavailability of direct sunlight in my apartment. My seedlings stretched quite vigorously for 2 days while waiting for the LED light to arrive. Plus this is bagseeds so high chance that its not auto (or probably no chance at all haha) so micro grow box I think its easier to control the light scheduling later when I want to enter flowering stage.

I am planning to add on another LED thats rated at around 60~80 actual watt in the next few weeks when the plant is bigger. Do you think its a good idea to add supplementary light?

Here's a picture before I put them under the lights

And one more thing, any recommendations on fertilizer/nutrient mix that is locally available? Would like to keep the cost very minimal since I am growing bagseeds so not sure about the yield and sex yet

Most times the light manufacturers will exaggerate the light wattage and the total/usable PPFD. Especially the cheap ones. Another thing, the wattage is not the priority here, it's the light spectrum that's important. There are so many options on cheap LED lights from Alibaba etc. Do a little research on other posts about more affordable LED lights. But I'm curious about your RM50 light. Mind sharing the link?

As for nutrients, any nutrient that is suitable to grow tomatoes, is suitable to grow cannabis. You should be able to get it from the nursery you got the potting soil from. Preferable to get at least two part nutrient mix, grow and flower. You can also easily get it from lazada or shopee. Or from Serbajadi online store. OR you can take the organic route as well.

Here's the link to the grow light. It got a mixture of red blue warm white and white. Most of the cheap grow lights doesn't include the PAR, so I chose the one who included them lol. Probably gonna add another similar LED during vege and add some LED strip lights (curi idea space buckets)

My grow box is quite small, 35x35x45 cm, cause mobility and stealth is important when friends or families coming over. (Easily hide in the closet ke corner of the room ke) So I just wanna experiment with this.

Thanks for the fertilizer tips! Now I know what to say when the storeowner ask me what Im growing lol
