male or female preflower..need grow space

are you in 12/12? yet? it looks like theres no sex yet but youre pictures shoudl be in NATURAL light, and close UP and clear

Yea after 1 month a plant normally shows sex regardless of the light cycle.
After 2 months if a plant hasn't showed sex, I would think it would have to be an extremely slow grower or you don't have enough light intensity/ the right spectrum.

Plant looks lanky and stretchy, most likely due to minimal required light for a plant of that size, either switch to 12/12 now or regret it later.
I don't see any pre flowers though, for the first 2 weeks while your plant starts to show sex, no matter what, they usually look like male parts, but after that time passes, they start to swell the calyx and a white hair pops out.

That is some what misinformation. A plant produces two types of growth hormones chlorophyll and chloroform. Chlorophyll is produced during lights on so primarily veg which is what allows the plant to convert light into growth energy. Chloroform is produced during lights off and is used to produce sex organs aka bud. Not to say its not possible to see sex produced during a 24hr lights on period but just not as likely. The 18/6 cycle is used to ensure the plant is ready to produce bud when switched to 12/12.

If you're not giving them darkness then its not going to be easy to tell and from the looks of your pics you haven't been. Even a small light leak is enough to throw off the cycle.

OP can we see a overall picture of the plant? As well as nutrients, light, and any information you might think is helpful?

Just to give you an idea, I have 7 plants in a tent on 24/7.

1 Plant is an auto, obviously already showed sex after 20 days.
3 others that are Photos, showed sex after 1 month & a few days.

Sage & Sour, Sharksbreath, & Gigabud all are showing female pre-flowers (What I thought to be male balls, as they started off like pollen sacks but grew out after a few days)
The other 3 are starting to show some sign of pre-flowers (Little green dots coming out)
I expect them to show female pre-flowers in the next 2 weeks.

All 6 Photos are being vegged in 3 gal smart pots from start to finish, under 24/7 then 12/12 after 2 months of being vegged.

In the past I've always let my plants show sex before switching, this not only saves me the stress of throwing out males late, but gives me an idea of when the plant WANTS to flower, instead of when its FORCED to flower. I noticed a lot better growth when switching to 12/12 after all pre-flowers come in, vs 12/12 before any pre-flowers show.

Absolutely correct when growing with adequate light to grow a full enough canopy to shade leaves of usable light, they do but from those pics there isn't enough canopy to do as you do. He would need darkness.

thank you all for the responses! the reason im running a 24/0 hr light cycles is bc i have 6 autos also in the room (5x5x7 closet) for the first 2 months used a 250 MH now using a 250 HPS..should i upgrade to a 400 watt system? the plants have plenty of room in the closet. As far as autos would switching to a 12/12 light cycle throw them off? they are begining to flower. I will put more pictures in normal light conditions when i get back from school today

autos show sex at around 20-30 days, so its been growing for 2 months?

Take photos CLOSE up of the nodes, in natural light, perhaps there is sex and we cannot see it cause the pics arent the best qaulity

It does not show either of these characteristics, although it does have two stems coming out of the central branch at each level, i have heard that this can be signs of a male plant (female ive heard have alternating patterns) Is there any truth to this myth?

your random reg plant needs to do 12/12 or it wont flower, so how do you plan on flowering it? do you have a different light source?

Males will show in 20/4d and will not effect the auto's. Females will not show preflower in 20/4d or 24/0d. The female will grow a white hair at the stigma under 20/4d but males will not grow a white hair from the stigma. At 24/0d the stigma's may not show sex..

This is true and not true at the same time, for anyone running a 24 hour light cycle, it is unlikely you will ever see any type of sexing in the vegetative state, because flower need darkness to develop. This is why it is recommended to run an 18/6 light cycle, so your plants will naturally start showing sex, but still be considered in vegetative cycle. Secondly, when flowers start to develop they do not all look like male parts. Male parts are raised on a small stem up and out of the node point, females burrow themselves down into the node joint for support of the bud as it starts to develop. A calyx will never look anything like a stamen, even in the earliest parts of flower production. The most accurate statement you could have made, is that you cannot tell SEX for the first few weeks of flower.

I'll just apply the "To each their own" statement here.

Cannabis shows sex under 24/7, it's happening right now in my garden, it has happened in a lot of other gardens, and it'll continue to happen so long as I continue to grow weed.
I don't use 18/6, never have, never will.
If you think I meant my plants are flowering under 24/7, you've got it all wrong. Pre-flowers and flowering are two different things, my plants are pre-flowering.

Especially in the earliest stages of pre-flower production they look like male parts. The first thing you notice is a small green lump coming out of the intersection, it just doesn't pop out looking like a calyx with a hair coming out, it takes a few days after you first notice a green dot.

Clearly you think from 12/12 flip, and that may be because you never let your plant mature and only force flower it.
I'm even tempted to take pictures of all my plants in my tent right now, they all are in different stages of pre-flowers, some dots, some bulbs, some have white hair or two coming out.
The only plant that is full on flowering is my Auto White Widow, Derp, under 24/7.

Next time you grow, let your plant grow out and show sex, don't go from 24/7 to 12/12 randomly. Let your plant show its sex then switch to 12/12.

i am growing some feminized seedlings to cultivate when the autos finish, i planned on doing the 18/6 light cycle when the fem seeds are placed in..i was hoping to be able to sex the random plant before...thank you for all the help
