Ive been fascinated with mandala's strain descriptions for quite a while.

ive traditionally avoided regs because i dont have the room to grow them out (i veg and flower right now with a 150w hps but soon ill be using a 2ft 4bulb t5 for veg and the 150 for flowering exclusively)

most of their strains have descriptions that read "ideal for anxiety" "great for depression" "non-racy relaxing effect" etc etc etc

and thats exactly what im looking for but from my experience many breeder's descriptions are a lie or at the least a stretch of the truth.

how is mandalas smoke? im mostly interested in whichever strain is most ideal for "relaxing, anxiety, non-racy, no paranoid thoughts, depression" etc.

im looking for something thats a bit of a mood enhancer. something that can slap a smile on my face everytime i smoke it. ive tried many many strains but have never found anything that measures up. the only time ive experienced such highs were times i got lucky buying from a street dealer but often there was no strain name or it was a made up name etc.

I've been curious about this too for long time. Every time I find a journal on something from them it seems a bit deflating, but I'm holding out for some positive news and will probably try Satori at some point anyways...

Bump to this one. Someone has to have some experience...

I grew out a fairly large amount of mandala's gear recently, satori, beyond the brain, point of no return, and the safari mix. I was pleased by all. Their genetics are solid, but landrace-y, so potent but a little rough around the edges. The vigor, however, is outstanding. Also a bunch of great tastes and smells. I have nothing bad to say about Mandala.

For anti-anxiety and whatnot, you should check out Hashberry. It was part of what got me into Mandala in the first place.

My Killing Fields had a phenotype that does what you describe. Mandala though - they do real breeding, using land race genetics and selecting from large numbers of plants. You will find something great, no doubt. Whether you will find exactly what you're looking for - that's another story. I'd trust their descriptions however. I've seen a few grow journals that caused me to jump in and buy some Beyond the Brain. Probably next seed run they will be in the mix.

ive considered the safari mix just for the value (20 regs for 30 bucks and change) but i was worried i wouldnt get any good anti-anxiety smoke since its seeds from the breeding program or what not. i was hoping safari mix was gonna be seeds that got mislabeled.

how much variation in the safari mix?

and whats ur opinion of their strains in terms of anti-anxiety smoke. ive tried big bang and strawberry cough for anxiety and the big bang did the exact opposite. made me super anxious/paranoid for some reason. i could have pulled it too early.
the strawberry cough was somewhat anti-anxiety to me but ive smoked better strains for anxiety but they were bought off street dealers who obviously didnt have a name to go with it.

To Clankie have you tried their California Dream yet?
I generally shy away from feminized seed, so no. Its not that I'm concerned about herms as much as it is that I'm looking for more worked or refined lines, and since I have room to veg/test 20-30 girls in addition to my main cycle, I don't mind culling out the males.

And as far as variation in the safari mix, my understanding is that it is basically made with an open pollenation of their best parent plants. I popped half a pack, and got a wide range of plants, mostly males, but two really strong girls. Both the ones I kept were indica leaning, one a berry kushlike plant and the other a big beasty insense and floral plant. I had a couple other females, but those two really stood out, and I got some good sativa keepers from satori and beyond the brain.

I know this thread is on Mandala, but I came across this review last night of Bright Moments, from Gage Green:
Link

The part describing the high seems what you're after:

The High: This one hits straight away and the effect comes on quickly & strong!! The feeling is mind clearing, upbeat and happy. Perfect daytime "social" smoke or "night out" party herb with friends. There isn't any lazy edge either and the sativa buzz comes through strong but without the racey effect. Relaxing, warm and no feelings of anxieity or paranoia just peacefull meditation & bliss.
Low tolerance build up and effect lasts for around 1-1.5 hours.

Anybody pop Rishi Kush?

And for the people that've grown out Mandala's gear, how much were you able to push the PPM's? I notice a lot of their descriptions warn against it, which is kind of deflating...

i dont understand why that would be deflating?

my goal with most of my strains is to push the lower limits of ppm's. i hate running hard numbers through my girls the weed is almost always better if you feed light IMO.

i have a few mandala strains but yet to pop them. i was just in here out of curiosity myself but i know 2 strains which are exactly what you are looking for. there not mandala though.

you should really try Kali Mist serious seeds, and laughing buddha by barneys farm

i found out its not in my budget to get both chill-om and hashberry so i have to pick one now and order one next time. reason being is i already have an order from herbies coming and i have other strains i have to get on my attitude order.

so chill-om....or hashberry?

both sound very similar in terms of the high. they both promise happy relaxation.

which one is more of a mood elevator? which is least likely to induce anxiety/panic attacks?

which ever makes me feel more relaxed....MOST HAPPY (as in can put me in a good mood even if im in a bad mood b4 smoking it) etc. which one should i get this time? and which should i put off?

I ran several satori's multiple times. It was always my go to day smoke. Happy get shit done weed. Grew easy, pretty light feeder, but very good stone. Hope you find what you're looking for. They're one of my favorite breeders.

Hey man, i just finished my grow of point of no return, and i must say i like it very much. Its very fruity smelling & tasting, and the high is very narco, if you know what i mean. Indica style that makes you want to do nothing, and thats fine. First time i smoked it was like i had taken mushrooms, hehe, but this is my 2nd grow, and the 1st one was shit hermie seeds everywhere, so i didt think it would amount to shit this time round either. But its strong man. I really like it...good weed for going to parties if you like to dance aswell, but not if you like to talk and be sociable, hehe. You must force it :D

Ye man, so rambling a bit here, but i really like those mandala people...seems like good values and all, and im glad that i love this strain so much also. Like you say, its anti-anxiety, anti racey, anti just about everything except chill out & heal the body kind of feeling.

I got 50% females from a pack of Mandala #1 which is perfectly acceptable. All 5 plants have varying characteristics and none are 100% finished yet. Mostly they strike me as a bubblegum variant. A couple of them feature exceptionally large buds which leads me to believe the african sativa component is powerplant. I grew a powerplant cross once before and it looked like a work of giant bud art but was utterly worthless where it counts. Furthermore, a clone taken from the earliest flowering of this same M1 batch is going into flower mode despite the fact that it has never seen anything less than 18h of T5 or better. The clone was taken prior to flowering cycle. I got a bad feeling there may be some ruderalis contamination going on. More info will be posted when this project is finished.

are you sure its not just showing preflowers?

also i doubt your going to find any bubblegum or powerplant crosses coming out of mandala. they work pretty much from the ground up using landrace genetics.

I'm just waiting on some seeds to come in from Sea of Seeds and if they do come through I'm gonna order some Mandala #1. I find that paranoia and anxiety come from smoking strong Indica in a social setting, I actually don't mind the racing thoughts and actually enjoy the creativity that Indica inspires but it should definately be smoked either by your self or with really close people who don't give a fuck and aren't judgmental, it also is a great aphrodisiac and drives my libido through the roof, for whatever reason it is very anti-social yet makes you more intimate during sex. Sativa on the other hand makes you completely care free and is much more social, it makes you laugh and I can't even imagine having sex on it, I think it would ruin the buzz to be honest with ya.

No experience whatsoever with Mandala, but Satori looks like exactly what I'm looking for in a super charged Sativa hybrid. The 10 week flowering time, manageable size, and supposedly massive yields really pique my interest, along with its great potency. All other top grade sativas (Kali Mist, Golden Tiger, most other Ace, Mr. Nice, Cannabiogen landraces/hazes) seem to flower at least 13 weeks if not up to 16 and get quite large while not yielding a ton. Just haven't heard much feedback/grow/smoke reports on this strain. Does anyone has any real world experience growing/smoking it?

I can tell you about my grow experience...It is an easy grow...My style would probably not be your style but ten week flower time is about right...Very vigorous...Clones well...Germ rate 10 pack 100%...5 fems...Needs management (bondage) if you choose trim to get four big (I do mean big) colas but would probably do well SOG...Gets me stoned, real stoned!!!...FWIW
