Perfect. I see quite a few people complain about breaking branches and stuff. The key to it is Do it slow. You got it after this though. It's smooth sailing after this. How many tops are you planning on going for?

I'm trying for 8 but might settle with 4 since I'm new to this

If that's your only plant (you didn't state otherwise) I'd go for 8 just to take advantage of your lighting. Hell I'd go for 16 under a 400 with one plant if your nodes are tight enough. 8 for sure though. Then you won't be new to this. You'll kick yourself in the ass next time when you realize you only have to do one more top and tie.

Im curious to see how your grow is going if you have any recent pics. Also a tip in order to help prevent stems from splitting and cracking as they fatten up in preparation for the big colas when you top leave about 1/4" of stem it will help provide support for the nodes.

main lining seems to work well I top young even when I don't do this so I'm used to topping and tying 
it improves yield airflow light distribution etc in my small tent that helps more than you realize !
