Growing strawberry cough, soma sour D, and one cheese plant in a stinkbud aero/nft flower set-up. Seven plants total on this first run, they were in my cloner for 5-7 days after popping roots, and then vegged under a 6500k T5 for 4 weeks.
They are on their 7th day of flower under three of the 126W units right now, The fourth will go in when I add a third rack in about 5-6 weeks. Still waiting for fresh cuttings to root and still waiting on a hydrogen minigen for co2 in the cab, should be in this week.
If I can average two ounces per plant in this small space (3 x 4.5), with three week veg times in the future, I'll be more than happy. Led girl claims 4-8 ounces per plant topping a couple times and flowering at 18". I put them into flower at 12" but maybe I'll learn I can go longer because of the the tighter internode with LED. It's gonna be a fun experiment.
When I get a decent camera I'll post a journal.

There is a 63W unit that measures 16" x 8.5", a 126W unit that measures 19" x 12.5", and a 318W unit that measures 35" x 12.5". I went ahead and sent you a link if you wanted to look at them.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It's the same place we went for our honeymoon, but on a more budget-end hotel. The trip was really cheap, but a great value, and because I've been there a few times already, we got good deals on the activities we scheduled. It's low season, so everything is really cheap right now.

I'm definitely interested in following, especially if you start a journal. This is what I did earlier tonight:
This is the Apple Jack plant (Big Bang x White Widow) compared to a 12 ounce bottle of Guinness Extra Stout. This is the fattest cola I have grown yet! I'll just say this, the cola alone weighed over one pound wet. That's all I'm saying.

Can you successfully use LED's and HID's?
I wouldn't mind have the extra lumens but I don't want to deal with the added heat of more lights, added space taken up by lights, and the added cost of inline fans (buying them, replacing them, and powering them).

Hey LEDGirl, you ever dive Puget Sound? The thing I love about cold water diving is how much respect you get from dive staff at warm water places like Roatan or Bonaire. My wife and I were laughing when the dive master apologized that visibility was only 75' on one of our dives. 5'-10' visibility isn't unusual diving in Washington.

I skipped over most of the pages in this thread, so I apologize if this has been mentioned already. Anyways, I applaud the research into LEDs that is being conducted right now, but I think there is a much more viable option for the future of lighting -- plasma bulbs. They are fairly new, so not a lot of people have heard about them. However, IMO, they are more efficient than anything out there right now. I want less heat not more heat in my growing......from what I understand these are very hot lights....

So I went to my friend's house tonight, and I was again a bit displeased. My friend is a good gardener, who follows direction well. The problem is that her husband sometimes likes to take charge in the garden, and he doesn't listen very well. I told them to LEAVE THE PLANTS ALONE until I got back from Mexico, but he had a hard time following directions. He CUT THE AK47 about 1.5 weeks early!!!!! I'm not thrilled, but what can ya do?
Anyhow, I took a picture of her, and she's been drying for several days. She's heavy, but we'll have to see the weight in a few days. The other 3 plants are still blooming, so I took some pictures. I couldn't get all of the Strawberry Cough plant in the picture, as it's too massive, but I did take a picture of the bottom of the plant to show you what size buds you can achieve.
I forgot to take pix of my own garden last night, but I'll try and go do it in a little bit. It's fully loaded now
and my tall plants are getting huge.

Plasma lighting is cool to use for lighting large outdoor areas, but it will never be the future of indoor garden lighting. The reason for this, is that it emits a full spectrum of light, just like the sun and a MH/HPS. No matter how much light it creates, a lot of it is still unusable. LED's create nearly 100% usable light for plants, and as the lumen output increases over the upcoming years, there will be nothing that can touch it. As it is already, HID can't touch it watt per watt, and there aren't any Plasma lights that are developed solely for agricultural use. It was a good idea, but the future is in precision wavelengths of light, and optimizing electrical consumption, while reducing garden stressors like heat.

Well stated LEDGirl, Good to be reading you again, There are few here that fully understand cost involved in the research. If you look at most of the successful grows there is lots of lettuce being spent individually to achieve the results. Plus when you consider the amount of time spent by each individual tending their crops. Time spent engineering every dreamed of imaginable set-up, the losses are as big as the gains. LED's are going to be a sea change yet unimagined. Thanks for the inspirational spirit you share!out

My wife and I were thinking about getting certified up here, but we both hate cold water lol! I think we'll just do the program the next time we're in Mexico. Any time I've even wore a snorkel in Puget Sound, I wasn't able to see more than about 10' lol.

Yeah, even with dry suits it's pretty frikin cold. I will say this, after diving with all my cold gear and about 30lbs of weight, going warm is so easy and I only use about 14lbs of weight.
