if the night temps are cold will that cause colors or does it need to be cold day and night?

It just needs a colder range in temp. Like it could be cold daytime or night but night just makes more sense b/c there is no heat from lights/sun

What does "exotic coloring" even mean? Like an example or something...

often times plants that are exposed to cooler temps will change colors to different hues of purple to blue or red or even black. color variation can occur in both the leaves and the flowers.

i've seen significant color change when the nights drop below 50 degrees farenheit.
