Great information. Without a doubt on my next run I’ll be trying to keep temps in the low-mid 80s
However I’m still confused over what I should do right now….with buds that are taking forever and look to have 2-3 weeks remaining.
You mention the lower temps (late flower) simulating seasonal Changes and preserving terpenes. I am running LEDs (full spec, HLG 320xl) at around 80%.
Should I try to finish them at 77f (room temp) or go higher?
The poor plants have endured substantial temp variations since beginning to flower. Most of the time things were running in the mid 70s w/ mid 40s RH. Honestly my only real concern is how the buds just continue to spit out more pistils….it’s different from when they began flowering. The calyces are swollen and spitting out thick strands of 5-6 together w/ kind of a yellowish hue. At this rate they’ll take 17/18 weeks..maybe longer. They are starting week 14….and I know most autos go at least a week or two longer than the breeder timeline…..but this seems like an extreme case….the advertised timeline was 9-10 weeks (seed to harvest). Again I know breeder timelines are BS, but I’ve never seen buds grow like this.
As long as they are healthy and doing what they’re supposed to I have no desire to rush them or harvest early.
Sorry to ramble, I guess I’m asking should I try to finish at 76-77f to simulate seasonal changes and preserve terms?? OR raise the temps to get in line with the typical optimal temps??
I included some pics to show what I’m talking about. Thank you so much for taking the time to help a confused old coot.
