I think the big difference here is that it's easy to cool an aluminum reflector and pull the heat out of your grow room. Cooling your walls, not so much. To further illustrate this point, when I didn't cool my 600w hps (aluminum reflector) it was about 5 or 6 degrees hotter than it was after I rigged up my same reflector with the exact same exhaust fan I was already using to pull the air out when the hood was not cooled. Obviously this doesn't apply to cfl grows directly, but imo the real point is why would you line your walls with something that is going to potentially cause a heat issue, when you can simply use white paint or even white paper?

The OP posted a question about A-foil, which he hoped would justify his use of such material. Despite the majority of experienced growers telling him that it's not a great idea and giving him better options, he has chosen to hold tight to the few people who say "it's not that bad". Maybe it isn't that bad, but it's surely not that great either, and there are better choices in the same (or lower) price range.

He's got the new grower nervousness I think, because he knows that A-foil isn't the best.
A few posts back, he's already talking about stepping it up.

Check out his grow. You'll see that he's in no risk of the A-foil hurting anything.
Gotta remember; beginner, keepin-it-simple, and low budget.
A little reassurance is all he needed.

He's trying to make the best with what he currently has available to use. There's Honor in that.

I still think some white paper would be better. At halfva penny a sheet, you can't really beat it either.

thanks everybody for the feed back. I now have some new friends in my box and i took off my reflector above my lights and i will get some mylar when i get a chance. check out my latest updates to my box its in my sig. im not new to growing just new to indoors. i dont have a good backyard in my new house so im going indoor.
