A career doesn't have the same meaning as it did 50 years ago. People change careers 5-10 times in their life times. To some trimming can be a career at $17-20 per hour.ok but what if you only want to make a few extra bucks?
i wouldn't want to do it full time forever but as an occasional side job i thinks it's good. sit around listening to tunes, smoke and drink coffee.
I would disagree most trimmers suck. If you are wanting the same quality as a machine then ya 13 bucks an hour is cool. But like others have said you get what you pay for. Personally i find most leave more leaf than bud. Smoking chlorophyll is not my first choice.the reality is trimming is an Un skilled, Un educated entry level position that a trained monkey could do, and should be paid accordingly. Look at the greenhouse/agri industry where head growers with hort. Degrees are making $20+ per hour, you think that a trimmer is the same caliber as them and should be paid the same? I agree $13.50 is a shit wage, but you can't expect to be hired without a performance evauuation to prove your worth. When I started my last apprenticeship (2006) in a union shop starting wage was $13.50. I was a grown man that left a $30/hr job to start a career in the trades. It was tough but I saw the bigger picture of becoming a jouryman and advancing in the trade. I stuck with it got my red seal and journeyman wage $35/hr. Trimmers are the same entry level, do your time and prove your worth and you will be rewarded. It's not like there's a shortage of Un skilled Un educated trimmers out there, I'm sure at $13.50 they would have hundreds of applications of people trying to get their foot in the door. Regardless of pay trimmers have a high turnaround, if your ambition in life is to become a cannabis trimmer, your not the worker I'm looking for, it's simply a stepping stone to advance in the industry. How many times have you heard anyone say they wanna be a blueberry picker when the grow up? Same caliber of work. Entry level at best. Not a career.

All fair points.....
But remember we are talking about a STARTING wage, as we don't know what is offered as top trimming position.
If I get my way, my full time trim crews will be paid by pound and work 10hr days 3 days on and 3 days off. I would also like to have several part time casual workers who could help fill any gaps in production. I'm keen on hiring retirees and pretty girls, dudes need not apply.
Everybody else in the facility would make a fair living wage after a 3 month probation period. Top wage is currently set @$30/hr + production bonuses for lead growers. This along with $5 grams has always been my business plan from the get go. It's been 2 years and 4 months since MMPR app. was submitted. Last heard from HC 6 weeks ago asking irreiivant question that are clearly in our 1200 page app. It's a shit show to say the least.

I think your bizz model is realistic. it suggests you only see us as objects which you can surround yourself with for your own viewing pleasure. or in your fictional fantasy world where you are king cannabis do all the pretty girls just come in to work each day and fall at your feet, you know when we arent busy handling your "big thick buds" and having pillow fights. God men are DumbWow tough crowd.......I guess sarcasm isn't for everyone.....it's not like I said they needed big boobs or anything geeesh.

Hardly anyone can trim all day, day in and day out. Most of those ppl won't last because the work is repetitive and will injure workers.I think your bizz model is realistic. Compares to greenhouse flower / veg and entry level big pharma.
If entry pay increases to about $16/hr after 3 mo., that's better than most, and close to a living wage.
$34K in Ont??? IMO, bizz not my forte.
you have him peggedyou just want to hire pretty girls hahahah what a fucking douchebag. i consider myself a beautiful woman and i doubt i would want to work for you, you seem like a greasy slime ball
