MORE BALLS

I didn't think I'd lose this many but I'm now down to 4 plants. Also went to buy a Xmas tree at my local nursery and talked to the owner about my plant problems. He grows as well. He has colon cancer. I have Crohns. We bonded a bit. He's been growing for over 20 years. I showed him a few pics and he instantly told me my problems. Dry air and high temps. He suggest I humidify. I didn't think it was due to that. But my home gets pretty hot when the heat is on and its been 20 degrees outside. So I'll try the sponge method first cuz I'm strapped for cash. An actual humidifier during this holiday season will break me.

So the balls...
I was checking on my droopy plant and saw 3 more with balls. My RH is at 30 and temp 77. I always check those vitals daily. I also check the high and low. In the way of my meter was a branch with balls. I didn't expect to go looking for them again for a few more days. But since I was in there inspecting...

These are the reason I stuff my tent. I know unless I grow fem seeds, I'll lose 40-60% of my plants.

Might as well post what I was growing. I started with 4 different strains. 3 seeds of each.

All from Lost River Seeds. They name their strains after 80s and 90s pop culture movies and cartoons. Really like their Fat Tony strain.

Any who. The last one I had in the red solo was a male. It was my Bender 3. I'm all out of Bender seeds as well.

The four remaining are Dug's Bud and Rey's Dream. 2 of each. I haven't grown or tried either. The Rey's has a Blue Dream lineage.


Gonna do a flush probably Sunday with Kangaroots. I'll run 2 gallons thru each plant. Cuz the temps and RH keep my girls thirsty, I may do it tomorrow.

I threw my dirty pots in a diluted vinegar water soak and then in the washer. I ran the spin cycle twice. They look good and clean.

New leaf problems have arrived. Some yellowing. Not sure what it is yet but I'll dig in after today's feeding. On first thought its nitrogen. Bottom leaves. Not 100% sure but I'll wait. Can confirm all 4 remaining are ladies. I still check everyday for pest/mold/bananas.

My humidity dropped to the teens over the weekend. I went with a wet cloth and bowl. Its a high sided bowl and I drape it so the bottom of the rag sits in water and slowly evaporates up the cloth. Its kept my RH in the 30s since. I've also stabilized my temps more. Averaging 68-81 in temps since Friday.

Day 16 of flowering. This weeks feeding doesn't contain much nitrogen. So if its a nitrogen problem, I should see no fix and more yellowing.

I added a layer of Primal Harvest to the topsoil on all the plants then covered with a handful of fresh soil. Its supposed to be slow release over a few weeks. I wanna see my trichome production get a jump start.

I added more sugar and more microbes. I wanted to test my runoff PPM but the cloth pots reabsorbed the runoff before I could. I feed with drain tray under the pots when I wanna test. I let the plant sit after feeding about 10 mins usually. Then test and dump the runoff. So Ill test next feeding.

Another day another update. I sit and wonder if anyone reads my posts or threads. I know when I wasn't growing but planning my next, I read a lot of other's journals. I wasn't sure what methods, mutes, etc, I wanted to use/grow. I wanted to know what kinda problems or tips I might need. So I continue my posts to help or inspire if I can, even those who just lurk and are thinking about growing.

I live in a medical state. I have Crohn's disease. I had horrible reactions to the IV biological drugs they had me on. Remicade and Humira to name just 2. Also have bad reflux and nausea all day. Constant bathroom trips and often times, loss of appetite. Not to mention the crushing stomach pain. Now this is just my story. I'm sure there are others suffering much worse. Cannabis has helped so much. You don't need to get as high as you can, as fast and hard as you can. A simple 0.5g joint in the morning with coffee can go a long way. Or even an evening edible before bed. So if you wanna know "can I grow my own?", you can and its quite easy and fun. Rewarding is more the word I'd use.

On to my update. I have a magnesium thing happening now. It seems like going organic has given me lots of small problems. My humidity has too. I have radiators. The heat is extremely dry. So winter growing is challenging. The low RH has stunted my growth. I'm gonna keep these 4 after harvest and reveg. I'll transplant into bigger pots. I really wanna see these 2 strains flourish.

I had a nice temps past 2 days. 77 was my high. Although today my RH dropped to 19. After I fed it jumped to mid 30s. I have mid plant yellowing and purple stems. Classic magnesium deficiency.

I'm at day 28 of flowering. A lil less than halfway. I'll go to 65 days. Anyway. I have a wonderful "special" peppermint brownie waiting for me. Going to munch it and relax. Made all my family stops yesterday. Had a niece born early yesterday morning. Saw my resin start covering my leaves. And today gonna watch football then basketball while baking and being baked. LOL

I still had some mid leaf yellowing so I upped my Epson salt from a teaspoon to a full tablespoon. Next watering is a 2 gallon flush. Sugars and microbes are my friend.

First update of the year. I am about day 40 of flowering. I fed yesterday. I've added extra sugar with more Hi-Brix. I've got yellowing but I think its N yellowing. Did a light lollipopping. I'm about 3 weeks away from something. I go 65 days mostly. The frost is okay. I've tried to keep these girls short. I have 3 about 1.5 feet and the other is about double that. Idk why. I topped and kept them in 1 gallon pots for this reason. This is my last week of using microbes. I haven't found any reason to use them the last 2 weeks. I'll use only sugars the last 2 weeks. I'll drop my bloom nute in about another week.

Side note: I bought an 8th of orange sherbet from a friend. The smell was incredible but the effect wasn't what I thought. It was relaxing but a bit strong. I usually roll about half a gram joints. My Bender from last round was strong too.

I'm somewhere about day 50. I've had fan leaf yellowing that started turning reddish. I haven't personally had this happen to anything I've grown. Its pretty to watch. Next watering will be a 2 gallon flush. I don't see a point to flushing when your organic. There aren't synthetics to build up salt, so what am I flushing? I fed today just some sugars. Not gonna do much more. I'll start checking trichomes in about 10 days. I have a small phone magnifying device. I like 65 days but 5 more, if I need, won't hurt. I usually grow stuff in the 60-70 days range. I also plan out my schedule around that timeframe.

Also changing my water/feed schedule, adding an extra day in between my waterings to dry out a bit more.

I'm a week from harvest. My camera mag glass isn't performing how I had hoped. My plans are to dig up my root ball after harvest, let the soil sit, then reuse it for next round. I'll add a few additives and use on transplant. Just got 5 Blue Dream and ECSD seeds. I might do 3 of each and 2 mystery seeds. I have a sample of Dug's Bud from a lower shoot, drying for sample. I'll test it out after its been hanging 3 days. Both Dug's Bud plants have a nice reddish hue to its leaves.

Side note: I've just stumbled upon Firecrackers. OMG

Fed 3ml Earth Juice Hi-Brix. I have enjoyed the Earth Juice line. Calmag problems were persistent but otherwise its a fabulous line of products.

Another sidenote : I love Clipper lighters. That little "stuffer" thing is amazing.

Had a great flush today. I ran 3 gallons thru each plant. I watered, let sit 5 mins, then repeat, and then repeat again. I had the chance to get some great pics as well. This maybe my last post before harvest.

Like all my grows, during my last week I check my trichomes the best I can. I don't usually take many pics during harvest but I hang the whole plant. I give a full 24 hours of darkness the day before then cut the main stem right above the soil. I remove most fan leave the last week too. So after my 5 day dry, there is less to trim.
