Mars hydro has no discount on either led for 420. I found disappointing.
Ok, so whats the better deal before
420 sales end? Best prices i can find are as follows.
FC-8000, which has 2968 Samsung led's, for $817 each.
OR
FC-E8000, which has 3928 bridgelux led's, for $706 each.
Almost 1000 more chips in the fc-e8000? Both par maps are identical, so are the bridgelux running at lower power, for better life span?
What do you guys, that really know led's, think?

I have an fce4800 that grows dank. They should perform about the same. I’d wager that more diodes with the same wattage will have a longer lifespan. Save the $100 and get the fce

bridgelux is a reputable brand too plus you get more diodes and their umol/j is almost the same as far as i know. so i don‘t know why would i buy the samsung ones?

Thanks for the quick replies. I always figure, you get what you pay for, but in this case was thinking the way you are reputable company and more chips. I welcome others to chime in. @Rocket Soul, @OneHitDone?

Yes, basicly. But to really figure this out youd need reliable info on what bridgelux chips versus what samsung chips.
You can have a scenario where the thermal resistance on the samsung chips is so low that even on lower power the bridgelux chips are actually hotter. Can you get your seller to let you make temp measurements?

If all else.remains the same im in the leverage diode count and go for bridgelux camp :)

They're both great lights. Fce has higher far red. I'm rocking the fce 8000 and I love it
Not sure where you were looking but pretty sure they had a sale on the 8000's but not 100% on that

On the mars website. Neither was on sale. Only smaller fixtures. I'm trying to fill a 5x9. 2 at 24" would be perfect. I'm also considering the medic grow smart 8, 760W. Much less expensive and looks pretty nice.
