Hey everyone! HUGE HUGE shout-out to @MarsHydrofactory and Rollitup for this AMAZING gift that has been bestowed upon me! The Mars Hydro Smart FCE 4800.
It was very easy to assemble, also very lightweight considering its size, of the total 17lbs I would say 10 or 11 of those lbs is just the driver. I tested it to make sure it worked before installing it in the grow space.
First, I started with a Mars Hydro TSW 2000, which is too small for a 4x4:
It's a great light, but my buddy was tired of seeing me harvest 2-3oz plants and offered me his Spider Farmer SF4000 to borrow:
This is the SF4000. Its also a great light, but quite heavy and although it's a VERY intense light, does not have great spread to the walls and corners. Notice the huge amount of apace between the fixture itself and the walls:
With the newer FCE 4800, the edges are MUCH closer to the walls:
This definitely allows the plant material closest to the walls, to still get great light intensity.
Getting the height set for the tallest plants. I've decided to keep the light at 16" from the canopy and starting at 75% intensity (pictured is light set at 20%).
Aaaand we're all set! All plants started flowering under the TSW 2000, were switched to the SF4k for about two weeks, now finishing under the FC E4800. The one furthest in flower was a late-bloomer from the previous run. After this, I should be able to fill the whole space with similar aged plants. FINALLY, i should be able to get "boutapound" off three or four plants! I might even calculate gm/watt this time!
