MaryJane and Physical Pain?

So I've been having some issues with 2 of my teeth recently right, one on top, one on bottom. I had a root canal done a few years ago that was never totally finished and it has become infected the past few days causing pretty severe pain, I thought it was coming from another tooth and that I might have to get a cavity filled but I guess not. The other tooth on top is probably going to have to be pulled, but regular pain meds are working just fine on that one. The most pain is coming from the infection on the bottom part of my mouth, they also gave me some antibiotics to clear that up, thing is that takes atleast 2 days to start working.. so I essentially just have to deal with the pain for these 2 days, and like I said, it's pretty extreme! Like I can't sleep or go to work or anything...

So the last time it flared up I decided to smoke a bowl, I noticed it doesn't make the pain any less severe, but it makes me much more able to deal with it, like it strengthens my pain tolerance or something. It's kind of hard to describe...

What kinds of benefits have you experienced when dealing with pain after lighting up? Anyone else got any stories?

I use it for pain everyday man. I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) I have a lot of stomach pain through out the day. I smoke and the pain goes away. I settles my stomach dow right away.
love it
I also had some dental work done. I tried to take mj for cavity pain and had the same results as you. The pain was still there for sure, but I seemed to forget about it easier.
good luck with the teeth stuff bro

Yeah I noticed that phenomena too. It's like you can feel the depth of the pain more clearly and that allows you to see that the pain is not so bad and that a lot of the limitation and discomfort your experiencing is all in your head.

Yeah.
I kinda hoped it would mask the actual pain a little more but oh well.
funny story......

I smoked before I went in to get some cavities drilled.
I was sitting there with my mouth wide open and my head back for a while and every time the dentist stuck that spit sucking tube in my mouth for me to spit I had nothing to give him. ha ha ha
I had cotton mouth so bad! I am sure he was wondering "why the hell is this dudes mouth all dried up"

he probably smelled my breath and figured it out

That's exactly right. Pain radiates. If you can focus on it, you can make it smaller by bringing it in to where it really is. I had 3 children with no medicinal help using this method. (I was mormon at the time and pregnant so no weed but the same theory)
