Masking my own seeds?

Since I began hanging around here, I became highly interested in some strains, particularly Jack Herer. It seems like its one of the best that can be grown, I want the original so sensi seems the way to go. A 10 pack of seeds seem to be going for 230$.

What if I buy let's say 3 seeds of pick and mix for around 75 bucks, I hope for a female and I have it pollenate itself by a Jack Herer male or itself by turning it hermie, will I have a shitload of Jack Herer seeds?

Is there anything wrong with my plan?

I know I should just find a beautifull female and clone it to death... it's just that so far my cloning experiences haven't been that successfull.

What I would do is buy the whole pack of 10, when growing separate the males from the females. let the males mature and collect the male flowers put in a ziplock baggie. out of the females pick the desirable one you want to impregnate. using a small paint brush collect some pollen from ziplock and brush it on any bud of you choice. this way you only impregnate the bud you brushed so your whole crop wont be seedy. I have been using this method successfully for years. when you let a plant totally seed out it loses a lot of its potency. store the remaining pollen in the refrigerator. Its as simple as that.

The reason seed companies sell the seeds for so much isnt because they are like "super seeds" or something, you can make the exact same seed of that quality from your own plant, its just getting different seeds and strains is kind of sketchy if your not doing it through a trusted, well established breeder. How do you know your really getting that particular strain/breeder of a seed from random people.
