how often do most of u change the lids on ur mason jars or does it matter i was readingathingthatsaid everytime uopenitto burpit changetheid ithought i sounded a bit xtreme just curious the fresher the betteri guess they r cheap as shit

lids are good for your purposes indefinitely, they only need to be replaced if they are used for canning, ie when people can tomatoes and partially submerge the jars and lids in boiling water to create a vacuum seal.

the only time lids no longer become good is when they have rust on them, after that they are no longer air tight imo and should be changed (its also kinda disguisting to smoke rust possibly) you should also leaves lids off when storing (if storing in a humid area) as you will create moisture in the jar thus rusting your medal air tight lids hope this helps
