Massachusetts 2020 outdoors seed selection

I have done a little research as to what strains will be good for me in coastal MA.
I want to be ready for next outdoor season.
After some research the two most recommended were LSD and MOB.
I am thinking about the MOB. Does anyone have any input on these strains, or any other strains good for our climate here? They need to finish up early october without light deprivation.

Never tried the TH version of MOB, Can't comment on how close they are to the clone.

JBCseeds has the Vashon Early Bird I mentioned in the GPS thread. Stays short and finishes early, It also crosses very well from my experience. I have crossed it to MOB and LA Affie and have been very happy with the results and its cheap. Another one to check out at JBC is AK Bean Brains Freezeland. Both are regs, but I think that's good for outdoor strains as its easier to do a seed increase and keep the strain around for years. A pack of each would be a great place to start looking for what you want, I bet crossing them would create some great outdoor plants as well.

I grew LSD in a greenhouse in Massachusetts this past season .. I didn't chop until early Nov, but it prob could have come down late october... I'm not sure how well it will do uncovered, but overall I'm happy with how they turned out this year.. strong weed, I'd grow it again... I've attached a few photos below of this past seasons LSD

I have a some MOB mothers going indoors now that I'll pull a couple cuts from the best for next years outdoor, but haven't run it outdoors yet... i have high hopes though

Also check out Oregongreenseed.com

I’ll be growing their amnesia hashplant in central vt next year along with Vashon Eki Bird (from Jbc). I plan on crossing the two as well.

It is clone only, they are selling S1's I believe. When they released them they said they got a cut from Mass if I remember correctly. No way to know for sure, but it has been passed around in Maine for years, so there is a pretty good chance its a legit S1.

Yeah, it's got quite a story behind it. Im fairly certain I could find the clone version if I tried hard enough. But there is always the question if it's legit or not.

I always wonder about these "real deal" discussions. Doesn't seem to make much sense. If it grows the same as the "rd", looks the same, smells the same, flowers the same, smokes the same, then what is the actual difference? Most guys are getting their seeds from the banks anyway, not the breeder.
It makes even less sense to me to say that s1 seeds aren't "the real deal" when they come from a reversed clone of that original mother plant.
Not trying to start a fight here, but I've seen this with other plants, and it never seems to matter in the end.

OP: As I understand it your climate is pretty similar to here, so something like Frisian Dew might be a good idea. I've heard good things about it outdoors, especially mold resistance.

Anyone ever run humboldt seed company seeds outdoors in the northeast? Not HSO but the company that produced blueberry muffins?

It looks like a fast strain and may work. Only real way to find out is to give it a shot.
Dark heart nursery has a write up on it. Nothing about bug or mold resistance though

Oh for sure. I have a few packs of their gear that does better in their eyes in reg seeds that I didnt pop last year. Dont have to time this year to start early and weed out the males. Contemplating getting the same strains in fem seeds but I dont want to drop the money if anyone has had a bad experience.

Outdoor season is coming quick, here in the northeast we have had a warm winter. As soon as I can I would love to start some auto flowers and I plan on starting either MOB or LSD later into the season so they don’t get gigantic.

figure for autos that it isn’t as important to get something resistant because they will be ready before humidity season , but I have little experience with autos and not sure what to get. From pictures I’ve seen I’m considering Mephisto autos

I have 8 raised beds and will grow 8 different strains this year. So far here's what I got...

1. MOB (TH Seeds)
2. Lip Smacker (Exotic)
3. Booger Sugar (Envy)
4. Cindy 99 (Grimm)
5. Putang (Mass Medical)
6. Silky Johnson (In-House)
7. ???
8. ???

Still trying to figure out the last 2 beds, I know one of them will be something crossed with hash plant , I ordered a few varieties from ACE and should have them any day now... I'd like to find something I can grow a giant bush and wash the entire thing fresh directly from the garden

I was thinking of running the putang myself, looks like a nice strain.
