Massachusetts Storm Smashes Across State

It was Biblical. Reminded me of living in Oklahoma. Was a fast moving front with extremely high winds, anyone who had an unprotected patch outside needs to get to checking. I was able to save a few on the porch, but the big beasts I had to leave outside are certainly in dire straights. I dont even want to go look but I gotta. Probably have to hang em up wet, arghhh...

Things have calmed down, but wow!! What a humdinger that was!!!

I’m in NY about an hour east of the Berkshires. I’ve lived in my house 20 years. This storm was short, really intense and just scary. One in three without power in the capital region. My plants are small and in fabric pots and rode out the storm on the porch. I empathize with those that have big outside plants.

I totally agree with you. II have seen some storms, but never in all my life seen it like it was today. It was like a massive micro-burst, at first it was cool to watch, but then km like 'fuck this I'm going inside' it was that intense...

Edited for typos.

I almost took the dog to the basement. My house is surrounded by trees. Many are black locust which are shallow rooted. We stayed up stairs and watched. It was amazing.

Wow, I haven't had a chance to get out to check on the plants yet, but sounds like we were majorly spared in SVT. There was a brief period of high winds, but nothing compared to the windspeeds MA saw (watching morning news out of Boston). Hopefully all of the garden taping I did yesterday made a difference with what wind we did get. Good luck Massholes!

Yeah, I thought "here it comes" and that was it...little rain and wind but then it was gone.
