Matching Drivers and COBs

I used to flip off stupid drivers all the time:cuss:Then this bitch that was totally blinded by a windshield started waving a Glock at me; well I was pretty sure she couldn't hit the broadside of a barn door so I drove up next to her and gave her a two handed one finger salute. Later that night when I got home someone that looked like her was on the news for killing several people in a drive-by. I am not sure it was the same person but it got me thinking and now I just smile at people as I swear at them in my inside voice.:lol:

Yeah tell me about it, the doc told me that it came within an inch and a half of puncturing my heart, so not an experience I want to repeat, pushing your luck eventually ends badly, lol.

Wow, that could've gone badly, lol. I hear you, after getting my chest perforated, I bought one of those CB's with a loud speaker installed under the hood. Then if some idiot really pissed me off (only happened a few times ;?) I could just yell at them without having to get out of my truck, lol :fire:

So yeah, you never know what kind of asshole you're dealing with these days, so I usually try to avoid it these days, I'm too old and supposedly too wise, lol, but it's hard to remember that sometimes:bigjoint:

Fair enough. Consider that the biggest threat to everyone's safety might just be that bad temper itself?

Whenever someone is that angry, they tend to lose situational awareness which can lead to very bad outcomes.

Stay cool and be alert. I can't even tell y'all how many times that's saved my ass!

When someone runs a red light and almost kills my kids etc...I lose it. What if I wasnt the one driving?
I feel like I should make this guy unable to hurt anyone else.
Then I realize its not my choice to make. I have ptsd maybe that makes me react different, and maybe I use that as an excuse for being hot headed.
I try hard though, and I havnt been in a fist fight in 10 yrs.
Quitting the drinking made a huge difference, there are no holes in the walls where I live after 4 yrs in the same place.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but you'd think those newer LED headlights could still be adjusted so they don't shine directly in peoples eyes - back in the day there were screws that you used to adjust the positioning the beams, but not sure if that even exist on modern cars. If not, then the makers need to be pressured (legally if necessary) to redesign them to shape the beam more tightly (at least the upper area that can blind oncoming drivers).

ANYWHO, I think we should stop hijacking this thread, lol, and get back to matching COBs to drivers ;?D

On that note, I have a question about whether 6 of the CLU048 1818C4 80CRI cobs can be run on the HLG 320H 54B? I was told by someone on Kingbrite that it was the the driver to go with, but look at the output of the HLG 320H 54B -- current 5.95 A, voltage 54v and power 321.3W (btw using 220v input). The Citizen CLU048 1818C4 -- If max 4140 mA, Vf typ 52v, If rated 1620 mA. I know I keep mixing the two up, but if the output of the driver is 5.95 A or 5950 mA, then to run 6 of these COBs, would that mean they're each is at just under 1000 mA? Considering the max is 4140, it seems like it's low.

That would work fine and they would get roughly 1 amp and roughly 50 watts each

Hello, I have a question please

I'm trying to match a driver for bridgelux EB LED strip @ 700ma.
I did my calculations for the typical rated 44.2Vf and it matches the driver almost perfectly.
Double checking the LED datasheet I'm worried that the Vf I end up with may be more, what should I do?

The top table is from Bridgelux, the bottom table is my calculation

i have read every post in this thread!! great stuff!!!
a friend of mine pointed me to this site, said i would find an answer to my question. and i have no doubt about it.
we had a local grow shop in the area close recently. and i knew the guy very well, he was really bad at management
but anyway. he gave me 5 lpc-100-1050 and 3 lpc-60-1400 mw drivers. along with some xml2 and some cxb 3070 cobs, and me myself, i was in computer repair for some time.
i have a crap ton of cpu heatsinks and fans. so my question is. i can use one lpc-100-1050 driver per 3070 correct? mounted on a cpu heatsink with fan, the cob draw isn't going to be to much for the driver is it?
and as far as the 1400 drivers. may just run a few of the xml2

Hi guys I've got a question about using up spare space on driver.

I've got a 250w driver that has about 50w spare that I want to use up. Currently it's running 4 cxb3590 @1400ma.

And am wondering the best way to add these to my driver ? I am wanting to drive them around 700ma
