Ok, I have a problem. I am 9 weeks into flower, and litterally just now realized that one of my 5 girls is a hermie (of course my biggest and best looking one!). I'm not exactally sure when I starting seeing those "hermie fingers" showing, if i had to guess it was 2.5 weeks ago. Being a new grower I just though she was kicking into high gear flowering. I have 4 other girl in this room all doing well and NOT showing signs of being polinated. Do I chop the hermie down or take my chances and let it get a bit more potent? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I made up my mind and chopped it!

More questions, is it harmful to smoke partially/fully developed pollen sacks? Might it be best to just make hash out of this girl depending on the amount of seeds found in the final product?

I have had it happen to me too. Sometimes the pollen in the late hermies is sterile. So don't worry too much and if you do get a few seeds, grow em out.

Well this sucks, apparently that one girl did pollinate the other four girls! FUCK!

Now I don't know whether to cut them now or finish them out and let them get all seedy then make hash. Will these pollinated females continue to get more potent? Do they stop making THC when they are pollinated?

I had the exact same problem with my first run. I noticed the bud didn't grow any larger once the male flowers showed up, but male flowers kept developing. I'm not 100% sure if they keep producing THC after a female is pollenated or not, I assume that they don't. I figure the plant is concentrating on producing seeds. I'll cut them down in either scenario and make hash if they look worthy.

of course they have been pollinated that was a full blown hermie with well developed penises. but luckily since it was so late your yield was hardly affected from this, but if you grow commercial than you are fucked because no one wants to buy seeded bud :)

if you're not growing commercial then you're good - the quality of the bud was not affected nor was the quantity (hardly if any), you can be sure about that. let your plants finish and enjoy smoking them, no need to make hash male organs are just fine to smoke - but it won't hurt either. and next time be alert, peace :)

I would try a different strain, Some are more prone to Hermiing. Sativas I noticed hermy real easily. Northern lights takes a beating and abuse and wont Hermy. And is stony Stony high.

BigFlats, kill the hermie if u havent yet. nothing good comes from them (not even seeds as the seeds will mostly likely carry the herm gene now). as far as the non herm females, i just finish what you started. i've had some really great bud from plants i hit with pollen, so it doesnt always effect the quality, just yield.

and look for better (stable) strains because that was way too many nanners on that one ;)
