bumpity bump ;)

does no one have any opinions on this? people say the extended dark period has the effect of tricking the female plant into putting a last ditched attempt into getting fully matured. i dont wanna keep the male i just want him to jizz asap so i can get him outta here

Okay, you are a dumb noob!:bigjoint:

Dunno what you are trying to do, presumably catch some pollen. I have no answer to your question re dark period.

Why are you saving a male?
i cant cut clones as im growing an auto flower strain so instead of spending lots of money buying a few new beans, i wanna give up a couple of branches and get hundreds of auto flower seeds for free :) so basicly i just want the male untill he shoots his load then i can go spread it all over me girls

i am pretty tempted to just leave male in with my 4 girls and pollinate them that way, im probably gonna end up with them heavily seeded anyway

No - no, don't let your male pollinate all your girls. Get the male out of there, and in a couple days, you'll have pollen. Then you can apply a tiny amount to one branch or two, with a small paint-brush, or cotton-swab.
Unless you want a ton of seeds - that should be sufficient. You'll get more males for later, you know.

yeah i know its just that i can only keep the male on a window sill in the next room at the moment. the cabinet im growing in has got an electrostatic filter http://solutions.3m.co.uk/wps/portal/3M/en_GB/EU-Filtrete/Home/2/Products/UltraCleanLarge/
(its just the refill not the entire unit)
im just not too confident that i wont get them all pollenated anyway
