Taking a little while to reset and let the bed biology get back into high gear. Letting the Cover Crop grow in (added some more seed as well to fill it out), and put 5 Jamaican Shipwreck seeds into soil. All 5 have since sprouted, so the pheno hunt is on! Hoping to get at least 3 females, but if I get more that’ll work too.

Decided to take the bags/domes off the seedlings. They are now enjoying the Timber unobstructed. Finally got the RH under control as well.

The Mom/Veg tent is cranking again. The whole back half is my Lambsbread, front left is Panama Pupil, and front right is Jamaican Shipwreck.

Finally, the Mazar clone/Mom is cranking along in the Clone tent, will be Topping her soon, and the Prayer Pupil clone/Mom is still limping along (she had previously had root issues so had to be transplanted).

Amazingly most of the clones that I took also look like they’re gonna make it. I thought for sure I had fried the Jamaican and Panama clones, but miraculously 80%+ are going to be viable. I probably will only keep 1 of each (might not even keep any of the Jamaicans since they got fried the worst) though and give the rest away or maybe even just trash them since they are hurting so badly. At least now I know I have the lighting situation figured out, so when I take clones again they should fare much better.

Seedlings are still growing. There is essentially zero node spacing so they are staying very short and compact. The 3 I originally planted are obviously further along than the 2 I planted later. Nighttime temps have been dropping into the 50’s (even with the space heater as it’s been getting down into the teens and even single digits a couple nights) but RH/VPD has stayed pretty good.

Cover Crop is rocking though! Gonna be some nice green mulch/manure once I chop and drop it and plant the seedlings into the bed!

Decided to Chop and Drop my Cover Crop and transplant the seedlings into the bed. Hoping the little ones will bounce back and really start taking off now that they have the soil biology to support them.

Plants are starting to get big. I’ve been waiting till they were big enough to take a solid clone when I Top them so I can Sex the clones; think I’m just about there.

Ok, so lots of updating is in order. My apologies for not posting lately.

When this picture was taken the plants had really started to hit their stride and they were in danger of quickly outgrowing the tent if I didn’t Flip them soon.

Here they were about a week later when I first put the SCROG in.

Then the next day when I Chopped and Dropped the Cover Crop, covered with a fresh layer of Compost, watered in with some AACT and covered with a fresh mulch layer.

And finally the next day after I Schwazzed them.

Here they are towards the end of Week 2 in Flower. Can hardly tell I stripped them.

Also, the Schwazzing seemed to do the trick in reducing the stretch!

But, it turned out that the plant in the front right was a male as was the plant in the back left. So, I decided to change course and to do a seed/breeding run with the big male in the back left and the other two girls.

Never done an actual on purpose seed run, so should be new and exciting!

And finally, here they are on Day 21 after I Schwazzed the big female. Plan on stripped the smaller female tomorrow morning and thinning out the male some (but probably won’t fully Schwazz him).

And check out all that pollen that big fella has already dropped! He’s not only a super vigorous grower but he also has some pink/purple on him and he has some serious colas too! Can’t wait to see what phenos I get from his and the big girl in the front left’s babies!

Day 30 update.

Things are more or less on Cruise Control now. May give them another Top Dress at the start of Week 5, but that and maybe another AACT or two will be about all I do till harvest.

Already smelling lovely and seeing some nice colors. Can’t wait to see them at Harvest time!E6B81040-4624-40F1-BA92-9267654BDBF6.jpeg24113544-EFE4-4B83-8A73-504D6AD8D0FD.jpeg12B2E024-A72C-49DA-A546-52707FDA9FB5.jpeg4D915FB0-9655-4AF0-AA1D-A86B7F9ED9C9.jpeg

Day 41 Update.

Loving how big the flowers are getting on the big girl in front (despite them being fertilized). Can’t wait to see how she looks at harvest time. Also seeing some nice purple in her flowers.

Plan on chopping the male in the next couple days to lower the RH and get more air and light to the lower nodes on the two female plants. Might try to collect some pollen from him to save for a later time.

Harvest.

As this was my first ever Seed Run I really didn’t know what to look for to know when it was time to harvest. But, I started to see some lower buds and leaves browning and dieing, which to me signified that they had finished making their seeds and were now planning to die so they could drop them to grow “next year” (as Cannabis is an Annual).

So, decided it was time to chop, do a Bud Wash using Doc Bud’s method (they are covered in Pollen from the big male as well as a small amount of PM) and hang. Plan on de-seeding once they have dried properly and then jarring up the remaining Flower to Cure.

Next run is going to be 4 clones of the big female Pheno done Sinsemilla style. Might wind up Manifolding them to both slow down the Veg time so my new Cover Crop can establish itself and to maximize Canopy evenness. Will likely transplant them in a day or so as they are quickly outgrowing their Solo Cups.

Out with the old, in with the new as they say.

These clones were quickly outgrowing their Solo Cups and starting to show some early signs that they were getting unhappy/hungry, so figured I’d better get them into the Living Soil before I really stressed them out.

Was planning on trying a brand new Cover Crop blend, but the creator of the blend advises allowing at least 2 weeks to allow the Cover to establish itself prior to planting your Cannabis into it, so will probably just use up the rest of the other blend I have left.

Can’t wait to see a full canopy of this girls flowers!

Day 15 in the Living Soil and we are off to the races! I confidently say I could Top all 4 of these girls now and they’d keep on cranking. Unfortunately though, I didn’t have time to do it today, so will do it tomorrow instead.

Finally got them Topped today. Unfortunately I didn’t get in the tent till after the lights had gone off (running them 10pm-2pm to help with heating and Humidity overnight and keep it from getting too hot during the hottest part of the day) so they were kinda sleeping when I turned the lights back on to Top them. Should bounce back quick though.

Day 29 in the Living Soil.

Plants had definitely fully recovered from their first Topping, so I Topped them again. Also left a couple lower branches on and didn’t Lollipop the branches that will stay so that they have more leaf matter with which to help them recover.

Once they recover from this I’ll assess and decide whether I want to Flip to Flower or Top them one more time and then Flip.

Picks from before and after Topping.

Day 33 update. Plants are recovering well from their Topping. Gonna brew an AACT and then use it to water in some Top Dressing and put in the SCROG net and see how they look. Then will probably Top them one final time and clean them up a little more to do a proper Manifold canopy.

Got the SCROG net in, got everything lollipopped, Top Dressed, mulched in all the leaves that I trimmed off, added a little more Compost, watered in with a Compost Tea, and Flipped.
