Max temp near growing buds

what should the max temp be near the growing buds? basically what distance should my light be above my canopy?

i have a plant less than 2" from my 400W HPS. It just depends how cool you keep your lights. if you can stick your hand under it without feeling too much heat then you should be good

I have a 600 running with just a small fan inside the reflector, and you can touch the glass on the reflector for as long as you want and its not hot at all. I still like to keep it at least 10 inches away, for fear of the plant growing into the light during the day.

do you have a degree of heat to throw at me ?

If youre asking whats the best overall temp for growing, shoot for around 80 + or - a few degrees
