Max Yield Gallon to Plant Ratio

Hello, I'm sure this might be posted somewhere in the forum, did quick search, wasn't conclusive so heres my situation. Starting an indoor op. with a tent 48"x48"x78" 1000w mh/hps cool tube, doing a DWC system but not quite sure on what is the optimal number of plants for how many gallon reservoir used. I have a heavy duty tote 27 gal wanted to do 6 plants but based on some research done, I'm rethinking sticking to 4. On my mind as well is how many airstones and pumps to use. Once was told a 6" airstone per plant, also heard only one 12" stone for 4. Under optimal conditions, which this set up will be, I want to yeild at least a pound. I am planting NL5 and white widow, any suggestions?

You need to take a few hours and read around the forum alot more.
People come on here all the time without reading anything and post questions that are covered in a few places on the forum.
An Igloo cooler is my preferred rez over a Rubbermaid tote. It helps keep the rez cooler instead of getting warm. 65-70 F is ideal
I have 6 of the 10 inch airstones and 1 70 LPM commercial air pump.
Get creative with it and the sky is the limit. Keep it simple and you won't have as many problems in the future.
Very valuable tools for DWC are a PPM/TDS meter, pH meter, temp/humidity meter, water temp meter.
You can get all of these for under $100 for all. Well worth it to have them. Check eBay.
I prefer Scrog method of growing. One plant grown properly can get 1/2 lb. So with 3 or 4 you can get more.

like I said I'm sure it was covered somewhere. I prefer personalized responses to my specific situation, thanks. I have a heavy duty tote, its not rubbermaid but one of those thick black walled bins that hold up to like 800 lbs or something close to that. Temp won't be an issue in my setup, I have one aquarium pump good for up to 40 gal I'm thinking I need to get another and have 2 stones hooked up to each, right?

Well I personalized it for ya.
Thats what I would do is get another pump or
invest in a good commercial grade pump for like $65 and run like 8 or 12 stones

More oxygen produces healthy roots and healthier plants

what i would recommend for a 2x2 is 4 five gallon buckets with reservoir outside tent so its easier to mess with. DIY bubbleponic systems are cheap as hell to make and give great results. Im doing my 1st bubble set up and one thing i wish i would have done differently is more bubbles. (ironic huh). The roots can have too little air but never too much. I wish i would have know that before i started my 1st grow. I was having alot of issues with roots, my plants were growing slow and most of the roots looked shitty until i added a 2nd airstone. Now half way through im seeing improved root health as well as new healthy roots forming. Its too late though seeing as most of the damage has been done.

I would also go with the Igloo cooler idea. If your just running one tent and no separate veg area you could do 2 of the biggest Igloo coolers. Take the lids off and replace the lids with 2'' styrofoam from Home Depot. Get a good pump, I've got an Active Aqua 60w pump with an 8 outlet bar. 4 12'' air-stones in each. This is my basic system, and the plants seem to love it. Check out the https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/366114-official-dwc-cooler-club-any.html You will find some good advice on this subject in there.

Thanks for the good advice. I've decided to stick with the 27 gallon heavy duty tote, I've looked all around and its the same one lots of people are having success with, 2 40gal air pumps and 4 round air stones, one for each plant. I'll try with this because I don't want to over do it if I don't have to. Thanks again.
