Maxibloom PH 4.0 after mixing to 1.6 EC..

What would happen if you didn't use the silica, I'm wondering if that's what raises your pH
I mixed up a couple of gallons this morning without the silica and the .25 ml of pH down put it at piss yellow as well.
I don't use enough MaxiBloom to require pH up.........I've never had to use it.

I'm the opposite, I use MaxiBloom and tap water and I have to add pH up......not pH down.

I use pH test drops and it's dark red after mixing.....my tap water is a dark green....what colour is your tap water?
Goes to show that different water qualities will produce different results. You probably have cleaner water I bet if @MickFoster & you measured your PPM yours would be lower. My RO is like 1 PPM and I need to add 4-5ml/gal of most brands of silica to hit 6.2 pH in flower.

I do not have the option of using my well water due to how filthy it is even after sediment & carbon filtration so I use RO which does require pH UP. Different well & city water is going to be completely different, all RO is going to be practically the exact same when using standard protocol (sediment > carbon > RO membrane) setup.

I can't use softened water due to sodium content.

This thread is primarily covering Reverse Osmosis Filtered water.
