Thinking of experimenting a sog in solo cup grow. Just trying to figure out solo cup details like do I veg or flower from Seed because there's not much room for root growth. Advice would be helpful!

I had WAYYYY to many clones a little bit ago. I gifted over 30 of em out, i had 3 left after selecting my 5 for flower, so i said screw it and kept em in the solos.

I kept them all single stalked, no training or topping to start. I flipped to 12/12 when they were roughly 10" tall. Not sure if the lack of room for root growth caused it, but there was very little streatch as they finished at maybe 14" max.

Blue Venom - she bacame top heavy quickly, so I did take about 3-4" off the top during first week of flower. The plant was very healthy throughout the grow, and actually matured faster then the "regular" sized BV by over a week. Quality is just as good as her counterpart. I did have issues throughout the grow with her wanting to tip over. Had to add weights to solo cup. Ended up with 17 grams dry!

THC Bomb - looked absolutely beautiful! Solid rock hard single cola. My larger THC Bomb plants has a few deficiencies that i battled throughout, but not the little one! Healthy the whole way! Might of actually been a bit nicer end product. Matured at the same rate as the larger ones. 13 grams dry.

The Purps - didnt do as well as the others, but was still quality. Had deficiencies throughout, leaves were yellow by 3 weeks in flower. Nothing i would do seemed to correct the problem. Her mother was very purple, but this lil one never purpled! End product was pretty, lime green buds. I was only able to flower her 7 weeks as she bagan to throw nanners. Something that her mother or sisters never did. Im guessing the solo cup caused a great deal of stress on her. End product was some very very tastey buds, with a nice energetic head high. 22 grams dry!

So my little experiment went pretty well i think and took up relatively no space. In my opinion, doing a whole grow room like this would be a waste of space, as you could produce ALOT more with a few larger plants. Also, maintenance and taking care of them would be alot harder. Had to water them alot more frequently.

If this is what you truely want to do, i woild recomment choosing a couple indica dom strains. I say choose a few different as u do not know how each strain will react, and you dont want to get half way thru and have to scrap them all. After selecting your strains, i would cut clones, and use the clones for your grow, as clones seem to be a bit less vigorous then plants from seed, and will stay smaller.

Good luck

emit,
Ever seen an air pot? Like louvers all over the side of pot. I say, modify your solo cup with louvered slits all over the side for root pruning. Might be cheating though...
