Maybe a dumb question about buds

I had 3 plants, but gravity and wind took care of one for me.
Out of the two I have left, one has leaves and branches with flowers throughout.(first pic).
The other plant is growing much narrower, but seems to have flowers mostly only the main stalk.(second and third pic)
I read two posts today where somebody mentioned that the buds actually grow together as they get more mature? If this is true, can anybody suggest a link where I could read up on this?
I was getting kinda curious, thinking until now that I might end up with a funky first grow and only have handfuls of marble sized buds.
I'm much happier now, if they will grow together and give me some bigger buds

bigger buds and 'stacking' them together , if you transplant to a pot thats even a little bigger, you can get more out of it.

Yes individual bud sites grow together as buds start packing on weight. This is how you get big top cola buds. The plant in #2,3....she is basically a main 1 cola plant, so you will get one big top bud, and possibly some smaller side buds if you got any branches. Like hydrosoil78 said above, bigger pot would be better, especially outside.

Great! Thanks guys, I will transplant later this afternoon, or tomorrow.
Also, am I right in thinking that plant in pic 1 is more Sativa dominant, and pic 2/3 is more Indica dom.?

Yup from the looks of it you are right. Sometimes sativa's can start out with fat leaves in Vegg stage, then as they start flowering thin up, but Indica's predominately have a single cola style like your 2nd and 3rd pic with fat leaves. And as you can see your first picture is nice and branchy with thin leaves leaning more towards Sativa.

I get a little breeze, but just enough to keep some of the humidity down, not really strong enough to hurt, but that's why both plants have the bamboo stakes just in case.
I know I've been meaning to make taller ones:(

Haha.....my plants outgrew their stakes too.....I might have to replace them with some taller stakes just in case I have to tie some tops down. one plant is fixin' to start growing over the fence line already.

You should get some nice chunky buds if they are getting the right nutes.....my main plot only gets about 8 hours of direct sunlight and my other plot gets about 6.

Haha yeah.....I hope they don't grow over a foot taller......right now they are perfect size. they are just hitting full flower

Hey fresno, I just put the smaller one into a 5 gal. pot. Do you think any benefit would be gained by trying to pull it and try and train it a little sideways for the last few weeks?
Also, what do you think the high humidity out here in the south-up around 60% almost all the time, sometimes higher will do to my bud growth?
