rotting matter is not good for soil.

thanks,I was just thinking about natural niutrients,and i was thinking ckrikets,or grasshoppers.lol

i find dead beetle shells in my organic soil while sifting through dirt for transplanting all the time. doesn't seem to bother my ladies...

only one way to really find out.

I may try a 50/50 soil,and dryed bug shell mix in the spring.we'll see what happens.

you wanted personal opinions on this im guessin. well thats basiclly what this site is for, and IMO i would never put even the shell casings of a bettle or whatever kind of bug, due to the fact that i dont think anyone know the rate they will take water in, and roots are fragile what says they can travel through these casings. you could become root bound easier i belive. and again this is all IMO so you are stuck with experiementing if you want. though if this is just a first time grow or even just a grow to have your personal and you dont have extra room to experiment, i wouldnt.

good point about the root bound issue

All dirt is is rotting or rotted plant and animal matter. It's perfectly fine,as long as you're not trying to make a mulch or soil out of only dead bug carcasses.
