mcdonalds stores in the US cave to catholic demands..

I mean Levi's jeans, Coca Cola, cars and whatever else corporations tell us is Americana. Getting drunk and driving around in your car after beating your wife too.

I notice that Muslim and Hindu girls don't drink alcohol around teenage boys and get pregnant while the parents blame it on sex ed. They need to start doing that. Be like us! Speak English, drink alcohol, drive your car, commit domestic violence and get pregnant! Stop stealing all the good jobs and drink alcohol. Why do they want to keep their culture?

Their parents don't take the easy way out.
Give them a generation or two to devolve, then they'll fit in real well.

How do you lure someone to break your window? Did he pretend he was dying and they tried to save him? Then, surprise!

He "lured" them by making it look like he wasn't home.

Same way Bucky "lures" rippers to his grow. By pretending to be sleeping in his home.

the point is that when you adjust both wages and prices for inflation, your dollar has greater purchasing power with respect to big macs now than it did back then.

Ah, if all we ever had to purchase was Big Macs, what a relevant point this would be. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Big Macs, especially when the McRib is off the menu.

As a hardcore Taco Bell fan, I would like to caution anyone from trying their breakfast tacos...hideous. AM Crunchwrap was tasty, but pricey.

Wrong, once you adjust for inflation, it ceases to exist. Just ask Buckster.

Its hedonics, The Big Mac used to cost $2, but now its $4, but according to the Government economists, there is no inflation because the lettuce is much higher quality now.

Can you imagine how out of control deficit spending would be if the government didn't attempt every sleight of hand and redefining things so as to make SS, military pay and the plethora of other things indexed to inflation as low as it possibly could?

Instead of 1% raises, they would have to give 15%

interesting but factless take on things.

yeah, it's not like the price of beef, rents, electric and utilities can tell us much about actual inflation.

And it's not like the price of a single item on McDonald's menu is affected by numerous factors other than inflation. Marketing campaigns, increased competition, dropping market share and other factors that might not have been as monumental as what they face today. Nah, the Big Mac enjoys the benefit of existing in a vacuum that is ONLY affected by inflation.

I'm sure your right though, massively increasing the amount of currency in circulation has no effect on inflation. And there are only five zeros in a million.

again, you're right. such basic staples have no say in inflation.

Staples.... hmm that's a good one. Staples used to cost a dollar for a box of 1000. A box of 1000 now costs nearly 3.

Wow, I'm glad buck is here to tell us all these expanding costs aren't inflation.

Of course it isn't, in fact all of us are so much wealthier now that we are quitting our jobs en mass and retiring. Many are retiring right after college.

I know. The Obama economic theory on retirement is a blessing.

Padawanbater2 is semi retired. He works for less than $10 an hour so someone who needs a good job can get the one he should have. I mean could have, had he not given up his right to that six figure income.

Its funny, all you have to do is redefine what "unemployed" means. Pretty soon no one will be working and the unemployment rate will finally be at 0%.
