Mean well version A problem

Hey, I was using the screwdriver to adjust the brightness in my lights, they are almost maxed out and I needed to lower due to temps. So I tried to adjust and its not working anymore. I notice the screw is no longer there anymore to adjust it. It's missing and must be somewhere down in the driver. Any ideas on what I should do?

First thing I would do is unplug the light and disassemble it to find the screw. I'd be worried about it shorting something out and damaging your light or worse.. start a fire

Yeah that's what I thought too. But I don't think there is any way it could have come out, Its a pretty deep hole so I still think its just down in the driver. How bad does this suck. Even if I shake the driver, nothing sounds loose at all and nothing is bouncing around in there.

How does it only have one hole? I thought they had two. Anyway, guess you have some digging to do, or is that black stuff solid? You can buy dimmers that attach to the output wires. More costly than a simple potentiometer though. So I guess the lesson here is that it's better to get the B type and use your own dimmers. Nice to know that they use cheap pots in there that break with normal use. You're lucky it's stuck on high instead of low.

Have you heard of this occurring with other mw drivers?

OP did you contact mw or the vendor you purchased it from?

Send it back to the retailer for a replacement.

The screwhead on the pots are metallic if I remember right? If you really want to try salvaging it then you could try a neodymium magnet over the hole while jiggling it around. With a little bit of praying it might just come out.

Won't they just say it was user error? Maybe if he says it came that way. He did open it up though. Have to make sure it doesn't show.

Now I have a version B driver, and a 100k potentiometer, but I don't know how to hook it up. Can someone help me or post a link for a thread that explains how to wire the B version up to the potentiometer?
