Medua DWC CFL/400w HID

It was a combination of 2 things.

1. Some of the nutes splashed up on the leaves when I was adding some water+nutes to the tank.

2. I am new to high power lighting, and had it too close. Until I actually started to use the new ballast/lamp, I never really knew just how hot the area under the light can get.

So after moving the light up, and spraying down the leaves with some purified water, the plant seems to be healthy again.

I also really need to get a decent ph meter. The strips are living up to their reputation of being unreliable.
 
Looking good. What are those white things that are around the base of the stem? Can they be removed??? I know my stem at 5 weeks is way thicker then the hole they are popping though. Do you still have 6 plants going in the 10 gallon tank? Have you flowered 6 plants in the 10 gal tank? Im using a 10 gal. bin and im crowded with just 2 plants.

Well the setup was originally designed to grow herbs, and spices.
Then I thought I would try growing some weed.
So I ended up ditching the first platform, and made a new one with just 2 holes for the pots.

Those white things, are just covers to help keep the light off the roots.
However, you are right. I will need to remove it eventually.
Nothing a pair of scissors can't take care of. (they were cheap $0.35).

My last grow had that cover on all the way till i found out it was a male and chopped it up. It didn't seem to affect the plant, but I have to wonder if it would stunt the growth of the plant after a while.

Alright boys and girls, it's time for the next update.

This would be day 16 since she sprouted.

I am absolutely amazed at the difference from CFL to MH just in terms of the plants bushiness, not to mention how much greener the leaves are.

Howdy!

What medium are you using? Could you let me know how you started the seedling out in your DWC setup? Just germ'd it and sat it on Hydroton or?

The medium is rapid rooter plugs, in hydroton.

I germed the seed using the paper towel and plate method, then when the tap root broke through, I placed it root down into the rooter plug. Then placed the rooter plug in to the hydroton.

I kept it in a humidome untill the the seed sheds the shell, then move it to my DWC
 
Hey.. thanks for the info -- do you like the rapid rooter plugs? Ive used rockwool before and I like it.. but Id rather do something else this time around..
 
I like rapid rooter plugs because you don't have to mess with them. Just soak em im water, and they are good to go.

Hey atrum man sorry i missed this man. Looking good dude. Very nice man.
As far as veg time man id say look at final harvest sizes given from the breeder's.
If im not mistaken u got ur madusa from nirvana.. They always give harvest size and flower times as well as indoor/outdoor prefferences for thier strains.
Ive never grown the strain but if its its a good indica and indoor plant u should be fine letting it VEG at least a foot to see what it does in ur sytem.

Ok, Here is the next update.

Ever since I got my 400w HPS/MH, I have been having heat issues with the res. My temps were up into the low 80s, and my plant wasn't growing nearly as vigoriously as it is now.

I was able to get the temps down to the mid 70s by repositioning my fan, and since then growth has really taken off.

I am also in the process of putting together my own Heat-Exchange cooling system for my res. It should help out loads, and I should have it done by tonight or tomorrow.

HAHA:lol:, no it's actually called a False Aralia. I bought it cause it looks like cannabis lol.

I suck at soil, so keeping it alive is proving to be a bitch. :sad:

my first 3 grows is gonna be organic soil then im gonna do hydro ... either bubble ponics or Deep water... yours is deep water right?

Yeah, mine is DWC (Deep Water Culture). I started with it, and I am sure I will keep using it. It's way low maitenence, so it's perfect for a lazy bastard like me bongsmilie:eyesmoke:

This little gal is growing very fast, and she is very thirsty. I have to top off my rez at least once a day now with nearly a gallon.

As you can see she is starting to really bush up n out.

I really cannot wait untill I have some Cola Shots for everyone.
