Men, what do you use to wash your face?

i was reading this article in the mens health magazine at the doctors office about skin care. and it's telling you how to use facial cleansers and toners and creams and moisturizers and shit. and they had all these different skin care products for men and advice on how to take care of your skin.

most the time i just was my face with whatever body wash i use... and i don't like putting moisturizers and other goop on my face.

so i'm just curious if any men here actually follow any skin care routines.

but i was looking at this stuff at it was like:
facial cleanser - $12
facial toner - $8
moisturizer - $25
eye cream - $16
wrinkle serum - $45
lip moisturizer - $5

bottom line, use a exphoiant for your face, ears and nose. Body wash for your body, and then moisturize when done. Sounds gay but the older you get the worse your skin gets. We buy 50k cars but cant spend a little on our own body, lol.

yeah but if i have dead skin and need to exfoliate, i can just use a washcloth and gently rub my face. as far as moisturizing goes, i drink like a gallon of water a day.. so dry skin doesn't really exist for me.

i wish i was that lucky ahaha. but i've learned through dealing with that little issue that all those skin care products like clean and clear and proactive are absolutely horrible to put on your face, the best way to deal with acne is to ignore that shit and let it run its course until it gets less and less as you get older.

Soap and water
Might use a fancy facial cleaner if I got a date later that night.

I too am guilty of using a girly body wash (dove smells like vanilla)
Dont judge me the chicks love it.

I even put baby powder on me after I get out the shower sometimes

I wish somebody WOULD tell me I stink !!!

no acne problems here either. my mom sends me some shit she gets online. i forget what it's called but it says "for men" on the bottle. 1 bottle i use to wash my face every shower and the other i use once or twice a week. seems to do the job.

Long and short of it is, your face's natural oils are there for a reason and if you don't strip them off in the first place you don't have to replace them with expensive products. Soap is unnecessary unless your face is REALLY dirty or greasy from a long period of not washing. If you can get into a regular routine of just scrubbing your face with a wash cloth and hot water once every day or two you will find your skin will respond happily. Your face will, with time, stop producing all the extra oil that it's used to having to pump out due to the oil-stripping nature of soap, and you will find your skin achieves it's own natural moisture balance. There is really nothing needed more than water and a decent scrubbing.

If you miss a period of decent scrubbing like above, a LITTLE bit of soap all over quickly and then rinsed off quickly will help cut through the surface oils without stripping it all. DO NOT leave it on very long, or it will strip all the natural oils and you'll be back to where you either buy exensive moisturizers to correct it or your body pumps out a lot of oils on your face to counter the dryness, which leads you back around in a circle making you think you need to strip all that oil off with soap again. It's a vicious cycle, but it's easily broken by diligently washing with hot water on a regular basis. Hot water alone can strip a lot of oils, but won't suck every bit of moisture out of your skin like soap will.

Trust me, try it...
