Mephisto Alien Vs Triangle

I always start off in a solo cup and transplant at 7 days. This time I decided to go straight into a 3 gallon pot. The challenge has always been managing the water amount so that the seedling tap root can still get oxygen. A solo cup is a smaller space and a seedling thrives more easily than in a wet 3 or 5 gallon pot. This time I decided to keep the soil in the pot dry and to just water around the seedling. It dries out in a few hours but I stay on top of it. The seedlings are in a closet in my office, so I'm right there.

She is currently at 4 days from breaking soil under a pair of Viparspectra P1000 dimmed to 25%. Lights are about 12" away from seedlings with a fan blowing so that they are constantly swaying. I keep the lights very close to stop the seedlings becoming too leggy. I'm also able to get a very even canopy that way. I don't top or train and i end up with very little popcorn.

I've grown AvT quite a few times in the past. Always the same characteristics. Great terps and solid nugs that pack a wallop. She likes a full dose of nutes and is ready right at 80 days.

I'm really looking forward to moving them under the COBs at 3 weeks and watching them take off. This will be a fun grow.

How did you go about the germination process. did you moisten the middle part a little bit and use a dome or what.
I aced 2x fantasmo beans trying to start them in 4gal pots. idk what went wrong but they never made it. Maybe drowned, I presoak before sowing.

I drop the seeds in a glass of water for 48 hours. Then I do the wet paper towel until there's a tap root. The pot is 3 gallons. Mostly FFOF with lite mix at the top for the seedling. Taproot goes into a little hole in the soil, then I cover with about 1/8" of soil. She usually breaks soil in 24 hours.

We're the lights always at 12" or was it after the stretch?

No. I'm usually at 30" from the canopy for most of the grow. For seedling stage I usually use a 40 watt CFL about 5 - 7" away. This time I just dimmed the Vipraspecture to about the same amount of light. Keeping them close and the light dimmed stops the seedling from becoming leggy and falling over.

My growing set up is a Vero Cobb 400 watt and a pair of Platinum P300. The Cobb is from Timber Lights who I highly recommend.

This is probably the easiest way to grow a seedling. Keeping the light super close without burning it is key.

right on man, good luck with the grow, I'll be watching along :peace:

So far I've only grown AvT outdoors, and I ran out of those seeds. It was definitely a favorite for the person I grow for. Excellent sticky frosty plants. I would say it's in my top five Mephisto strains.

I'd say it's the most potent auto I have tried.
Someday I hope (and expect) that there will be "home" THC test kits, and then some time after that, maybe they'll even become affordable. I'd love to be able to test all my plants. Mephisto has some really potent stuff out there. Of course, there's the number on paper and then there's the seat of the pants experience, and they don't always line up.

Yeah. A lot THC numbers provided from breeders are inflated I think. I primarily grow autos, but I will say that photos are generally higher THC....IMO. AvT is one of the exceptions. Dinafem has (had) a few offerings that were up there also. Their numbers seemed pretty accurate.

The March 25 photo is the 4 AvT at 15 days from sprout. The 2nd photo is 2 Avt and 2 3BOG at the same stage, except theses were transplanted from solo cups at day 7. See a difference? I don't.

16 days from sprout. I moved them from the closet with dual Vipraspecture 1000 and into my grow room under a Vero Cob 400 watt dimmed to 50% light. They literally exploded overnight. With the Cobs they are off to the races. Giddy up..

it's crazy how much of a difference good light can make

It's crucial. The Cobs are night and day compared to the Platinum P300s I also have. Much bigger harder nugs with the Cobs. I've grown some fine cannabis with the P300s, but the Cobs takes it up a level or two.
