Mephisto Genetics

How is the Apple of Eden smoke? At 85/15, I would hope it's a bit of a velvet hammer.
I've grown Rose Gold and Gold Toof- both are Indica fire. Unfortunately, neither is available anymore. Pretty sure both of those have 24 Carat as a cross. Both plants were high yielding, with beautiful growth patterns and fatty buds.
Got One Night Stan'd and 24 Carat coming Monday. This seed buying is a fucking sickness, but I love it. I've run nothing but Mephisto for the last 3 or 4 years. I got other stuff but can't get away for now.
AoE is a nice, relaxing , evening after dinner smoke. I honestly figured that it would be better than Bramley Beast. However, BB was exceptionally strong. I feel ya about the seed buying sickness lol. I've got a bunch of really great photo regular seeds, but I keep falling for the free 5pk with purchase deals from Mephisto. I really love the turn around time on their autos. Both those last 2 were ready in 70 days or less.

CDLC x Hubbabubbahaze plant after 11 days from breaking the surface. This would seem to be a good cross. I love all the CDLC crosses I've run. And, the Hubbabubbahaze crosses have turned out well too. I had to break out the Quantum Boards, but 2x 100w QB's should be fine for 2 autos. I started a Bear Chillz seed last night. It's awesome having enough variety of seeds that I can have something different each time.

I understand the utility of autoflowers outdoors, as you can ensure a harvest comes before the weather turns bad; the only reasonable choice for many outdoor growers.

A genuine question: what is the allure to growing an autoflower indoors?

There's no advantage and several disadvantages as I see it.
Sorry for quoting years old post: one advantage of autos is to be able to flower with a bit less watts. Longer lights-on hours means you can use a little less watts per area; longer hours compensates total light DLI. If you have a hard time maintaining temps in your growspace this can be really usefull, but it can just aswell mean that you need to add some heating when dealing with modern efficient leds. Not having to maintain complete lights out at night is another thing, if your tent is dodgy.

Anymore, there isn't alot of difference in quality between a Photo and an Auto. What was true even 3-4 years ago has changed. Now, it's pretty much down to Phenos and not strains. I've had several great Autos that were as good as any photo I've grown. For me the big advantage is time. I've had several autos that were ready to harvest in 65 days +/-. Even quick flowering photos have taken 8 weeks minimum to finish after flipping to 12/12. Autos are also easy to live with. Light leaks , no problem. You can use 1 grow area to start plants, and run all the way to harvest. You can run so many more strains in a year too. Potency on autos has risen to the point where even heavy users are finding it hard to tell the difference. I run both autos and photos. I just love cannabis, and , variety of it. People like Autopotamus on YT are consistently pulling 1+ pounds per plant. His biggest is 26 zips. It's down to what works for you. If I find a great pheno photo, then, I'm cloning that plant for as long as I want. That's the biggest advantage of photos for me. But I can always find room for a couple Mephisto autos in my clone vegging space. If it gets somebody growing their own then I'm for it.

Bear Chillz seed sprouted and I planted it in a cup to grow a couple leaves. I bought a bale of Pro-Mix the other day and I'm going to transplant into that next week. I've never used Pro-Mix, but I've seen some great plants grown in it. I got a deal a couple years ago on the 3 part Ph Perfect nutes and figured I'd run them. I'm gonna start 2 more strains next week. Like said above, autos can still hit their DLI with smaller wattage lights. 2x 100w QB's should be enough for 4 average size autos. It did for 3 years until I bought the new light. I like trying new things. I've learned a whole lot just experimenting.

CDLC x Hubbabubbahaze freebie at day 20 from sprout. Top 1/3 of the 3.5g container is straight FFOF. Bottom 2/3 is FFOF with 1/3 cup Dr Earth 2-2-2 and 1/4 cup Down to Earth 4-8-4. Recharge added to water every other week.
The sprout is a Bear Chillz in a cup of FFOF till it has 2 sets of leaves so about a week. This and the next 2 will go in Pro-Mix fed with Bottled nutes. I'm going to start the last 2 next week. Haven't decided what strains.

I have to say their iced n baked hits so well!! Only grown two so far but it’s going to be a stash I can’t do without. Would recommend growing it. It is sensitive to N at the start so bear that in mind

I ran 2 MBAP x InB last year, and they were very strong, knock you out smoke. I'm planning on running InB if I can ever get around to it. I've bought into so many of the free 5pk drop deals , and all have been worthy.

Aye it’s lovely smoke! Perfect for the evening or a day of doing nothing. Few strains can make me feel as euphoric as that one does :)

Yea too many seeds too little time/space lol

Yes I was surprised by the potency of that one. It knocks me out hard. Even after smoking Ripley's OG, I still went higher. The same with the Bramley Beast. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I swear, I have a decent tax refund coming. A 4x4 and a 500w Mars Hydro would sure help me run more strains. I feel low if I get less than 4 varieties to smoke.

CDLC x Hubbabubbahaze day 27. 1st pistil sprouted last night. The 3.5g taller pot definitely helped. So far my amended FFOF is doing great. Maybe just a tad too much Nitrogen, hence the couple clawed leaves. But, I've only had to plain water. I'm going to bottom water from here out since gnat weather is swiftly returning.

Looks good!
I'm growing Marley's Grin currently. Phantasmo Express is an oldie, but goodie.
For a quality light with great output and price, these are a pretty good option.

Day 29 CDLC x HbH. She's started to stretch and has really turned it on. My Amended FFOF is performing well. I set her in a bucket of water yesterday to give her a drink and then pulled pantyhose over the bottom to block gnats from the bottom holes. The top 2-3 inches is dry enough to be inhospitable to them. So far so good.

I grow in coco now, but when I grew in soil I had a big problem once. I used the sticky yellow pads for the adults, and mosquito bits for the larvae in the soil. About ten days later, another dose of mosquito bits. No more problems. I've seen a gnat or 2 around my plants, but from what I've seen, they can't penetrate coco.

I always keep the sticky traps and the vinegar, sugar, soap traps too. The environment is really conducive to gnats here, plus there are 2 chicken farms and several fruit orchards all within 2 miles of my house. Plus a produce farm right down the street. They use the chicken crap for fertilizer and we have had swarms of fungus gnats the past 2 years. Coco is much better from what I hear, but it's not immune to them. Hell, there's a few guys on the fungus gnat thread here that have had issues with them in hydro! But, it is pretty rare. In soil, they're a plague sometimes. I have learned a few good tricks like pre-amending the bottom 1/4 of the soil and bottom watering. That's helped more than anything else. Thanks!

CDLCx HbH day 40. It threw a few balls last week, but I pinched them off and I've seen no more. I did not expect this plant to get so big so fast. It's over 3 feet from base to top and nearly as wide. I've heard the buds tend to be smaller but hard, potent nugs. The Bear Chillz is a tad over 2 weeks and flourishing in the Pro-Mix. I added the Ph Perfect today for the first time at 1/4 what the label says and it's perked up alot. It had started drooping. They're really doing great to be under 2 100w QB's. No issues other than the few balls on the 1.
