threw a couple green crack clones outdoors and they seem to be doing quite well, my question to the outdoor guys is what do u do to keep bugs off of them. I’ve noticed a leaf here and there with small holes is them as if something is chewing on them.

For organic there is hot pepper spray, neem...etc etc

There are tons of poisonous pesticides On the market

But my advice is if it's just a few bites here or there then leave It. That is part of growing outdoors. If it gets out of hand then yes take care of it.

P.s. liquid silica and Cal mag are awesome for strengthening leaves so that they are too tough for bugs to want to stay and chew on.

Usually pest consume pest in the outdoors

Check the underside of your damaged leaves for eggs (aphids?)
If you see infestation, neem oil is a good choice.
That plant looks great, by the way.

Thx guys, I'm gonna scope em real good and if I see nothing I'll let them run their course. I've done small experiments with ladybugs indoors, I guess there is always that route too maybe? I've heard as long as u keep them happy around the plants outdoor they'll stick around dunno tho lol.

I don't typically care about leaf chewers.
Mites are the only bugs I worry about, really.
There's a billion bugs in the yard that chew leaves, but there's other things for them to eat. I actually have a healthy two or three resident jumping spiders per plant right now.

Because on hot days the bugs take off their shoes and are more likely to cut their feet on the DE. Just a guess....

I personally like to prevention spray during veg. I use Captain Jacks dead bug and neem. I rotate between the two and add a drop of dish soap when spraying neem. I use to use Azamax with good results but decided to try out Captain Jacks which has been great so far. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

DE is like microscopic glass. It cuts insects up and bothers their breathing. When it is hotter outside, they dry up faster from the fluid loss. The DE cuts up their soft tissue as they try to eat or transverse foliage. Spreading it on the dirt keeps the crawlers out too. After a while the bugs generally avoid that area of the yard.

I can watch the bugs jump off on a hot day.

As far as i can tell DE doesn't burn and I can apply it in the morning in the sun when the bugs are most active. Every week or so, depending on if it was windy.

Neem is best sprayed at night and you can only spray so many times before it burns the plants, and stunts them, in my experience.

I use several products, btw holes in your leaves might be worms, try BT? I've been using Grandevo and Smite with a wetting agent, DE on the soil surface.., if you have gnats or soil aphids and larva and want to treat once and be done you can use Bayer Advanced complete insect killer 2 way formula- 1 tablespoon per gallon and water with it and your done. Last year in Oregon we got hit with Russet Mites, so I'm really watching closely

I like indacouch’s answer. Neem in veg and azamax can be used late into flower. Thats my routine. Been working good for years for me

Be careful with the been in flower I always heard it’s not good to hit the flowers with it.

Had a caterpillar munch My a leaf, I was going to deal with it then a bird ducking came down and scooped it soooo

Lady bugs are good to have around too

Update: Plants are growing pretty good, may need to hit em with a lil more N looks like they're lacking some.
