hey planning to get a 600w mh sunmaster bulb as i just found out my ballast takes mh bulbs

i'm going to put the bulb in a air cooled reflector with a 6" 150 cfm fan, so i hope i wont get any heat issues

has any one used ones of these? if so hows your experience been with these?
how far from plant tops do you keep the light?
any info will be much appreciate!! thanks:bigjoint:

That's pretty similar to my setup, and mine works great. My fan is also 6", and 150-175 cfm(can't remember, exactly), and I run it through a 600 HPS, drawing fresh air from outside. It'll work great for ya, as long as you don't try to pull air through a carbon filter. You'll need a much bigger fan for that. Sounds like you already know that?

You'll need a 6" centrifugal fan, which are alot more powerful than 150 CFM. They're a little over 400 cfm, if I remember correctly. Do you have one of the galvanized steel booster fans? That's what I'm using. They work great, as long as there's no real air restriction. A filter, is way more restriction than they can handle, and will damn near stop them dead in their tracks.

You'll want something like this... http://cgi.ebay.com/Active-air-6-inch-Line-Fan-400-CFM-blower-/250673953808?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5d54fc10 if you want to pull air through a filter, and the light.

^Bigger bulb = less stretch, not the other way around. Plants stretch when the light is too weak, and the lower the intensity, the more the stretching. You'll be much happier with a 600, than a 400, anyday.

And....yep, that fan should kick some ass. Excellent choice, if I do say so myself.
