I'm about to harvest and I'm trying to decide how I'm going to dry and cure. Just wondering how most people do it.

If you use a paper sack, where does that come into play?

I like to trim buds leaving them on the branch. Hang and dry. Retrim what is needed and nug them into jars. Cure for atleast 2 weeks.

There are many ways to dry and cure that turn out a real nice smoke. I believe that the key is that you don't hurry the process. Personally I trim the branch and then hang the branch for 3 to 4 days to disipate a lot of the moisture. Then I put it in a jar and finish the drying and curing by leaving the top open on the jar and closing it for a hour a couple times a day. I do this for a couple days then cover and open for a hr a couple times a day.So I reverse the process.Once it is how I prefer it I will open it maybe once a day. Most processes people use work as long as you don't rush it.

Thanks for the info... I'll probably trim first and then hang up the branches/nugs to dry. I just want to avoid that dead rotten plant smell after harvest.

I find paper sacks useful for trimming. First I cut down to a big main stem. Then I batter the Mrs unconscious with it, put a paper bag over her head and can finally get on with trimming in peace ;-)

I start from bottom up trimming the branches but leaving them still a good length size, cut all the fan leaves.... then sugar/water leaf trim, hang dry in dark dry area with good air movement until the stem snaps, trim off the main stems and jar.... cure until they meet my standards/taste pref.
