Mh light Burning on first use?

The inside of the arc tube? is now brown after turning it on for the first time today, It was flickering a little bit as soon as I turned it on. Is this normal or is it an issue?

I turned it off as soon as it started flickering.

I didn't touch it with my hands either I held it only with a clean towl

mogul or double ended?
running 120v/240V?
flickering might be a sign of not a properly seated bulb, is the pin(s) getting good contact? or non compatibility .............IDK, unless you give us more details...
