For those of you who dont follow every single states proposals, scanning for the one who is looking at the issues of medical marijuana, we have a new ally in our ranks.
The Michigan ballot for 08, which included prop 1 of medical marijuana, was passed by an overwhelming 63% of voters!!!! This now adds state 13 to the list of ones that allow marijuana for medicinal use, furthering the movement.
Whats more interesting about the ballot is the wording of prop 1 which reads:

The proposed law would:
· Permit physician approved use of marijuana by registered patients with debilitating medical conditions including cancer, glaucoma, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis C, MS and other conditions as may be approved by the Department of Community Health.
· Permit registered individuals to grow limited amounts of marijuana for qualifying patients in an enclosed, locked facility.
· Require Department of Community Health to establish an identification card system for patients qualified to use marijuana and individuals qualified to grow marijuana.
· Permit registered and unregistered patients and primary caregivers to assert medical reasons for using marijuana as a defense to any prosecution involving marijuana.
Thats right folks, this means that now in the state of Michigan, whether you are a registered or not, you can claim that you have been using marijuana for medical purposes to try and get yourself out of any kind of use/possession/sale/growing charge. AND!!!! If you win your case in court (lets say on any random reason for using like nuasea, anorexia, or sweaty butt cheeks) your case becomes a precident for future arresties to say, "well remember the case of SweatyButtCheekGuy vs. State of Michigan where he got off on having sweaty butt cheeks? I should get off on the same thing". Thats right my friends the flood gates are open, let the decriminalization begin.
