Micro Noob Grow - LED 180W - DIY Carbon Filters

Hi all,

I'm ganna have a little grow just for some fun.

Full spec (Soil grow):
x2 custom carbon filters
x3 delta 100CFM fans
x1 180watt LED light
x1 humidity / temperature sensor
x1 soil moister sensor
x1 arduino for data logging (just so if anything goes wrong I can have a record)

I've ordered most of my parts and roughly designed the box.

I'm really limited for space so my first question is will a hight of 41cm (16") be high enough for 1 plant if I LST / SCROG?

To keep odor control high and noise down I thought about having a "recycle" filter in the box itself, this fan would be turned up all the way where the rear exaust fan would be kept at a lower RPM (lower db). Odor control is pretty important for this grow so I wanted to check if this would work? I know a commercial carbon can would be the way forward but I want to keep the box self contained and 120mm case fans are the best option for space.

Another question, anyone recommend any nice strains (I love my haze normally) that could be grown in such a tight space?

I've actually been thinking about getting a 360watt LED in there (Fits, just about) as they don;'t produce as much heat can i keep them pretty close to the plant?

Ok i'm going for the 360watt in a 6.26sq foot box. That would give me 57.41 watt per sq/f of LED.

You will be fine with height, just a little bit tight if you veg for too long, or you do not use any tie down points or trellis netting. I would recommend getting more than 1 plant in there and only veg for a couple of days to 1 week. This will be a scrog style, but will not limit your height quite as much

hey thanks for the reply.

I've actually moved them about a bit. I've put the filters on the bottom. I'll need to use special shaped pots (Rectangular) as I won't have much floor space now. This gives me about 20cm distance i can play with from where I think the top of the screen will be to the top of the light.

I was thinking of only growing one. But now you have said it I guess I could probably fit two plants in there.

you should be good with height if you try to scrog, I messed around with it in the past and it worked pretty good but the nugs on my vertical ladies were much bigger and easier to trim .... but I wasn't in a bind for space. and as far as the light goes- the bigger the better / more lumens= bigger buds in my experience.
