while i agree it's sickening that athletes get paid what they do and say teachers make spit, i tend to disagree about the salary that members of our military get paid...

Because go be mad at the government, and I'm sure if the NFL and NBA had as many people as the military or god forbid teachers, you really think they'd still be getting paid millions?
Not saying it's not impossible for the government to do but you really think that's such a good idea, especially in the situation we're in now?

Since I don't watch televised sports (but wish I could have seen the Olympics) I don't have a serious opinion pro or con their pay.
I also didn't see this thread as arguing that it's Gov't's bailiwick to equalize pay or see to it that everyone got rich. But I've been wrong before, and can state with perfect confidence that I'll be so again ... right?

I just thought this thread was like hating on sports because we have men and women dieing for our country and teaching the future and they get paid shit and all sports players do is "protect" a ball, maybe I took it the wrong way myself tho. Even still, it's still isn't a good argument of he thinks the government should be paying them to the equivalent of that to professional athletes, it just won't work out. I do agree they should be paid better but it would have to be something now reasonable.

the military will pretty much hire a retarded person.. no offense to retarded people.. but do you expect them to make as much as a professional athlete? the military wants people to fall into line and do exactly what the government says.. people shouldn't make a lot of money if they aren't using their own brain. lol at fighting for our freedom
I think it would be a shitty idea to have military members make millions. Then everyone would join the military for the money and benefits instead of having a real ambitition to serve his country. So basically it would be exactly what it's like now. Then again, America is corrupt and who wants to fight for a country that willingly hurts its own people. You can fight for yourself. Why would I risk my life for the old rich useless people sitting in office who care more about their wallet than the people of America?
