I’m starting this log off when the plants are abit more mature than sprout, but the first were sprouted aug 3rd. Latest were about aug 12th.

Im running in an 5x16 room with about 3x9 as usable space dictated by my 3 450w draw LED boards. 1 SF4000, and 2 agromax raw 550 3000k.

I will be finishing in 5 gal cloth buckets, and am working on figuring out how large I can make them and how to deal with staggered growth in a single room. I’m sure it will get interesting as I try to juggle as I have bit off more than I can chew!

I am having a ton of fun doing this, and will update with better pictures as it progresses. Thanks for visiting.

So I’m pretty much new at everything so any method im doing is new to me just lightly researched.

I decided to go and LST all of the plants, but the big ones on the floor needed it the most. I figure that will help get the canopy abit more even and then I can grow it through the net for support or lightly scrog it.

I’ll be transplanting pretty much all of them tomorrow into 5 gal fabric if they are not in it already. I have 2 choices, miracle grow dirt (yuck) or some real old peat moss that sat outside. I’m leaning towards doing peat moss, vermiculite and perlite, pretty much the Bruce Bugabee (sorry for misspells) soil method. The 8 ones in the floor are in a mix of roots organic x FFoF x Happy Frog amended with vermiculite dolomite and perlite.

I guess we will se which ones do better, my moneys on Bruce’s style if I can get it all down right. My well water is 900! Ppm BEFORE the water softener… so it’s got some minerals baby.

I don’t even think I will have to add anything to it except in flower some bloom nuets, but with ppm that high I can’t add much.

The plants on the floor are getting about 25k-30k LUX under the agromax 550 3k and 20-25k under the SF4000.

Well this grow is going as expected. I don’t know shit about who comes and goes and came back to all of the supplies taken, except for 1 bottle of pk….
Hopefully the damn lights don’t get taken next. This is a weird situation to be growing under. I don’t like it so I got my own fekkin light and I’m going to do a single plant by myself that no one can mess with.
I’ll still be managing these, but I feel like I can hardly manage under these conditions. I just lost all of my instruments I was using and have to wait a few weeks so see if I even get any more.

the biggest issue now is I can’t ph the 8.0 ph hard ass well water now. I’ll try and get some strips or something. No ph up or down, no nothin.

plants had a calmag deficiency that I corrected and the leaves stopped deteriorating. They are all mostly praying and looking nice.EB562D30-2274-49D0-AD15-02A739828551.jpeg10879364-72B2-4AD8-B43B-97B1EDE7F465.gif

Made an absolute fuckton of hopefully good soil today, I amended some old peat with vermiculite and perlite, 30lb of worm castings, and some dolomitic lime. Was like 100 gallons worth of soil! Hard to mix by hand. Anyways enough whining! No one said this would be easy.

All of the smaller guys were transplanted in the nick of time, one was showing nitrogen deficits and some new dirt and space will do it well. Have some jack 20-10-20 peat lite fert coming because fuck all the expensive nute lines.

I’ll be flipping to flower as soon as I have some fertilizer and figure out if I’m replacing the lights. Looking like ~2 weeks.

I also put a layer of sand on top of all the pots, I fucked those fungus bitches up and I’m going to keep them out with the sand and never ending mosquito dunks.

Got the new lights in, 2 medicgrow EZ 8. Will clean up the wires soon just threw them up today. F0F6087D-159E-4599-9B8F-9EE5C6CCFD81.jpeg
It’s very strong, at 4ft away from canopy at 60% I’m reading 22-25k Lux.
Got a fan setup again in a better spot 2E95CCB6-D200-4398-8A7A-4F4ACC8EB2A8.jpeg

Also put in a big ol barrel to make watering easier.C4763142-BBF8-40AA-B635-AFC07573B148.jpeg

Any and all comments welcome, I am super noob and this is my first grow. 8 of the plants are in a hybrid mix of roots, FFoF and HF. The other 12 are in Bruce bugbees peat and vermiculite substrate, amended with a touch of EWC and Dolomitic lime + perlite. Having some high ph issues due to my hard water, and working on getting a proper ph down like Sulfuric or Phosphoric acid, because lemon juice concentrate is not cutting it.

I got the wrong ph tests today of course but ones slightly useful, is tests down to 6.2 and to 8.4, but also tests alkalinity. My water was testing beyond 200ppm of alkaline minerals, so it’s pretty friggin buffered. I’m thinking the lemon juice either gets neutralized over time or the plant sucks it up, leaving me with high ph again.

Holy fuck man and I thought I was bad my first grow. 2x EZ-8s and all those plants and space. Well atleast you seem to have done your research instead of thinking you can buy a good grow. So is this your grow or? You said all your stuff got taken and ppl come and go in your grow space. How and why? What ever happened with that situation? Ordering a fold-8 from medic grow for my new 5x5 I’m starting. Looking good man!

thanks man, it started out I had to borrow some equipment and supplies from people but they decided they wanted their shit back and wanted out of the situation, sounded good to me! No hard feelings had to get my own lights though.

And your right i put alot of research into this so far, it’s mainly just applying it in the field now. Learning what works and what dosent. The other fellas are out of the picture once I return their lights. I figured it will be easier just to give their shit back and keep going with my own stuff. This is all at my own place they decided to set up their own somewhere else.

it was going to be one of those, I give ya the gear you grow it type deal, and I realized growing is the whole fuckin hard part about it and ide be better off using my own stuff and not having to split the buds.

Ohhh ya and with all those plants you got man that’s a job in itself. Ya I’m only on my second indoor run but the last 6 months I’ve expanded and started more grows. One at my dads, one at my girlfriends moms and one at my house. Illinois went legal in the last couple years and we are allowed 5 per house so I’m taking full advantage. One thing I plan to implement is some sort of automatic irrigation to help with all the work. I’ve learned how to properly water and everyone should but now I’m at a place where I could use some automation. I’ve been offered a similar deal only I would be setting up shop at his house and I would do the work. He would simply pay the electric but wants a bigger percentage than I would wanna give bc this is a lot of work and all the equipment, genetics, and nutrients costs $$$. Most ppl doing their first grow can’t get results like what I’m seeing in your room. I was a natural green thumb as well (or researched my ass off) and have been nailing my second run even more. Would love to have a space like that good job man can’t wait to see the results.! How many plants and what strain?

I will probably need automation too for next time, my knees hurt. That or raised up off the floor. I have 20 plants there, 5 Master Kush, 5 Green Crack, from ILGM. 5 Skunk XL from RQS, and 5 Jiggler from exotic genetix. I’ve always loved gardening and it really helped.

It’s still not going as well as ide like, trial and error stuff. I’m most worried about flower. They have survived up to this point I’ll be happy if I can just get them to give some nugs.

Ya I would’ve probably told ya to focus on growing like 4-5 maybe 1 of each strain. That’s what I did and learned a lot and was able to give the attention each one deserved. Each one drank differently but a top dressed them all the same with organic dry amendments. When you have so many it’s easy to overlook something or miss something. It also can get overwhelming and they will stretch so don’t wait to long before flipping to flower. Ya I’m getting some drippers hooked up to a timer bc it really is a lot.

Got them all flipped, praying to the ph gods they will hold out for just abit longer. i finally have all the supplies i need to give these plants the life they deserve, come sunday there will be a reckoning. i have felt like an abusive parent without instruments to properly care for them  hopefully that will soon change!

They are beginning to stretch! I may turn up light intensity tomorrow up to about 35k Lux. I’ll continue with veg nutes for another week and a half before switching to jacks finisher 7-15-30. Got my new ph’er works awesome. That vivosun pen was so far off reading 7.2 as 8 I probably never calibrated it right though I did not have distilled water around.

also forgot to mention I got a humidity and temp data logger for the room, an extra pair of eyes that I can check so now I can see how good or bad the humidity is during lights out.

it’s a miracle these things are still alive.

Atleast a gram I hope. Got a jiggler purping on me :bigjoint: 31FF3B2C-87AF-4C23-8EA5-06E6FCDBAF9D.jpeg
Loving how the master kush is smelling

So far with Jack’s 20-10-20 for veg and jacks 7-15-37 finisher for flower. Has been pretty simple. Only other stuff I use is root riot kelp and humid acid, and some potassium silicate.

I gotta fess up, I was abit of a turkey and started probing around in my root zone on the 12 peat and vermiculite only substrate plants, and was getting 5.8 across the board sometimes 5.6

I should have left it be. They were doing perfect, but I had to go and top dress A WHOLE GRAM of dolomitic lime to each and watered it in.

I may have just started the “death bloom” of the 6 or so plants I hit. I’m not sure if they will have any fan leaf’s left by the time this is over. I think the magnesium in the dolomite is locking calcium out. I did this about two weeks ago, I used way too much. lesson Learned, don’t panic dump shit into your plants. They are slowly getting worse since I took this picture 4 days ago.69283B42-68FA-440D-A7B5-35DA26875216.jpeg

I’m not sure how I would go about correcting this, I’ve just been watering to runoff like normal and hoping some leaches out?

Solving issues and learning. I don’t need RO water. I need the minerals in the water. I just adjust with acid fertilizer and a few drops of ph down to get to 6 For the unbuffered substrate, and 6.3-6.4 for the premixed bagged soils.
I bought some straight nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen to be exact. I’m using it to cut my 7-15-35 Jack’s finisher with some more nitrogen, as some of the plants seem to be having chlorosis from starting to tune the lights in.

I turned the lights down for a few days to give the calcium wracked leaf’s a break while I try to supply the roots with enough calcium to avoid further fan leaf damage. I started adding small amounts of gypsum into my feeds to add abit of extra calcium And turned the lights back up.

Currently have about 630ppfd on central canopy, edges are 450ppfd. I could have it higher I’m sure but I fucked the nutrients up and I’m taking it slow. Even under this intensity some leaf’s looked sunburned and were healthier looking if they were shaded by another leaf, so I took that as a clue and raised the lights to max height at 800w. Around a whopping 3 ft from the canopy instead of 2 1/2ft.

So far happy with how I trained them, only took the smallest of branches off at beginning of flower, still leaving a lot of smaller branches people would trim off normally in scrog. This branch is below canopy, yet still has some decent mass. I hope it dosent affect potency too much and also seems like the tops are farther along than this lower branch.
