Dimensions: 12"d x 14"w x 18"h

Lights: 3 floros - two 23w 2700k; one 18w 6500k - - - - 12/12 from seed (week 2 1/2)

Fans: one exhaust in heat trap (glass under lights), one intake in center - - - - computer fans

Plants: 4, F2 gen of bagseed

Medium:Soil - miracle grow, all i had:-( they seem to be liking it tho

Temp: 90 F

So i shortened the hell out of this post since just looking at it gave even me a headache lol. This is my first indoor grow and first thread tho ive grown outdoors two years now :weed:. Was hoping to get some tips here n there along the way, got a few questions too. How could i lower the temp w/o having to cut more holes for fans? also could i connect two fans to the same power supply? (a rewired 9v phone charger)

I'll have pix up soon, any advice or comments are appreciated!
#happy growing!

Got some pictures up, 16 days from seed for the two bigger ones, then a week or so for the smaller one in the bigger pot. The timer messed up and didn't turn my lights back on for an extra 3 hours, so i set it to turn off an hour later to make up for at least some of the time lost, plus the schedule works better for me anyways.

Hey man, good luck on your grow! I think that 90 degrees F is a tad bit towards the hot side, so you might want to consider a rework of your intake and exhaust. I can't see it up close, but from my perspective it seems like that piece of glass might actually warm things up by impeding the flow of air through your intake and up to the exhaust. You know better than me though, it's your setup. Here's my magic chef mini fridge grow that you can check out if you want: https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/610264-la-diva-day-64-harvesting.html

I just got my second harvest and have planted a new baby today:)

If you look at your power supply, it will be rated to supply a certain amount of current at the output voltage. You can hook up as many things as you want as long as the total current draw of all those things is less than that rating. If you try to draw more current than the supply can output, the output voltage will drop and your power supply will probably overheat and cause issues.

Also, I think you need more light. 64W will not be enough for 4 plants.

i'd like to see how this one pans out. space and heat look to be a big issue.

Thanks for the quick response mc! I agree 90 is a little hot, but the glass helped drop the temperature around 7 degrees. Maybe you're right about getting more airflow to help the temps tho, here's a pic from underneath. IMG_2991.jpg not sure how well you can see it, but there's an inch gab behind the lights. I was considering stacking another fan on top of the exhaust, but i'm not sure how much that would help. Otherwise I might cut a slit in the bottom for a passive intake and turn my intake fan into another exhaust.

as for lighting, i have an extra light in the back im not using as it cause temps to hover around 95, and if i can free up a space on the powerstrip by rewiring my fans, i can def fit more lights in there. really gotta work out this heat problem...

I saw your thread, and damn nice plants:clap:! I was expecting much smaller ones of my own, especially since i'm using miracle grow and have only heard bad things about it. However, you seem to have pulled it off and gave me new hope haha How much did you end up yielding?? Congrats on starting your 3rd grow btw!

Thanks a lot for the compliments man! I am using MG, but the soil was "MG Organic Choice." It didn't have a bunch of nutrients added like the other MG soils. I just chopped down the Critical Jack a couple hours ago, so I'll weigh it once it's dry. I'll let you know what the final yield was.

Regarding the fans, I have two 12V DC 80mm computer fans blowing stuff around inside my fridge and they are both connected to the same 12V wall wart and it's fine. They use 0.1A each and the power supply is rated for 0.4A, so it's safe. However, is that an 80mm 12V fan running on 9V for your exhaust? If so, I'd say that you really will probably need a larger exhaust fan and to run it at the proper power. The fans are the most important part of the whole setup. Without them, even the best lights will just cook your plants.

hmm i'm re-potting soon, gotta get all the plants in their own containers. I'm going to change their soil to something organic then, anyone have any recommendations?

No idea what the fans are, id have to unscrew them to check. I did rewire them and they seem to be working fine, louder than before though? Not sure why; on another note I took the fridge out of the enclosed location it was in and the temp seems to be dropping. Maybe the surrounding air was too hot? because a 20 degree increase from a couple of lights is crazy

It's not crazy. The only way to deal with the constant heat of the lights is to use fans and bring in fresh, cool air. If you are exchanging enough air, it will stay near room temperature and not get too hot.

Temps are at 86 max since I took it out of my closet, got 4 bulbs now(@ 85 Watts). Looking good, only problem is that I'm leaving for 5 days; worried about how I'm going to water them:-?

came back and my plants were completely shriveled up and yellowing, pretty much looked like a pole, so I watered them immediately, came back several hours later, and BAM they looked healthy as ever! they r sum resilient plants, too bad the biggest one turned out to be a male :/ the rest havent showed signs of sex yet as far as i can see.

If one of the 3 left turns out to be a female, hopefully, could I turn back to veg and grow just one some more as a scrog?? two of them were root locked in the same container with the bigger plant and barely grew at all. i finnally got them in their same pots so i wanted to grow them out some more before it's too late. They're about one month from seed

So It's been a while since my last up date. Two turned out to be males and I'm left with this hard to please woman. I turned her to 24/0 for a week after showing sex, and now 18/6. it's been about 2-3 weeks total since showing sex, and as expected, for now, not much growth.

I use miracle grow plant spikes to fert :-P they are 10-15-10, all ive got for now. i have about 2 of them, as suggested, in the 6" pot. my PH was just tap, well water actually, but ive just in the last week been letting the water sit in a plastic conainer for 2-3 days before using it to water. no immediate differences. not sure of the exact PH #Leaves are yellowing though, and three sets have already fallen off. help???
